You know scammers love it when you shop online. One of the easiest scams to get away with is single charges. People tend not to notice these one-off charges until it's too late. Closing the books every month catches these thieves in the act and your credit card company is (probably) prepared. Let them know about suspicious charges asap and stop the thieves in their tracks. The best way to do this, close/reconcile monthly.
