As I approach the end of my university journey, i’m feeling really proud of my grades and my dedication this year so far. It’s been a very very difficult 4 years but i’m almost there. Seeing my academic improvement after my placement year has been so so rewarding and has made these past few years so worth it. One dissertation and one essay to go! Can’t wait to graduate and start my new life chapter 🎉🎓

Evie and I got the confirmation about appearing on Good Morning Britain yesterday very last minute and it was interesting going into the debate as there are pros and cons to going to University. Though I went to university, here are some KEY stats as to why I argued against university * 45% of students said they weren’t prepared for getting a job after university * Nearly 80% of employers believe graduates aren’t work ready on entering the employment market * Students on non business related courses say university equips them with just 2 of the 11 key employability skills * Nearly a third of students do not believe university offers support in developing career management skills - CMI Some whooping statistics that can’t be ignored. The point I was trying to make is that, it’s not a one size fits all thing and there are alternative routes to success. You gain key skills and experience through apprenticeships, online learning, taking a gap year to perhaps work and figure out what you want to do. A lot of employers are actively looking for skills, rather than qualifications and the number of employers reducing their entry requirements is increasing and increasing year on year, as the proportion of companies requiring at least a 2:1 fell below 50% for the first time last year! Needless to touch up on the debt side of things, most of us know how much of an issue it is, and lastly - some of the most successful people in the world either dropped out of university or didn’t go at all, such as: * Richard Branson * Steve Jobs * Bill Gates What are your thoughts? 🤔 Full video here: https://lnkd.in/e8uEreRW
