Hustling to achieve my goals #grindset This week I embarked on a journey to further my education at WGU. However, the costs of this program require additional funds each month. So each evening after my day job, you'll find me hustling on the Instacart, DoorDash and GoPuff apps to bring in that extra income. $28 a day is the goal, and I'm determined to make it happen through hard work and perseverance. Some days are tougher than others, but reminding myself of why I'm doing this helps me power through. #lifelonglearning #furthereducation #sidehustle What motivates you to take on extra work in the evenings? Share your story below to inspire others furthering their education through grit and determination. Together we'll support each other in accomplishing our goals.

Here is 3 learnings from DoorDash's application to YC. 👇 (P.S. DoorDash is now valued $45B) 1️⃣ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀' 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 The founding team conducted 100+ interviews. They listened closely to customers. They understood their problems. And they built a solution around it. This is probably the fastest way to PMF. 2️⃣ 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗻 2 formers engineers at Facebook. 1 former founder at Vivo. 1 product editor at Square. They worked on real projects. They had different jobs. They were strong! 3️⃣ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼 Starts ➤ PaloAltoDelivery.com Scaled ➤ DoorDash worldwide They became good at their craft. They understood it by doing it (they were all drivers). And then they conquered the world. 🔔 Follow me (Hugo Rauch) for more startup content 📰 Subscribe to my newsletter at the link below my name

Celebrating DoorDash’s 11th Anniversary with Tony Xu During my 4+ years at DoorDash, I've learned a lot. Here are my top takeaways: - Bias for Action: Move fast and work iteratively whenever possible. - Be an Owner: Ownership brings responsibility. You own the outcome, whether positive or negative. - Relentless: Nothing great happens without grit and persistence.

Here is the original pitch for DoorDash created by the founding team in 2013. What amazes me about this pitch is the fact that they lay out the pitch perfectly. They start with explaining who is on the team, the problem they are focusing on, how they uniquely solve this problem, what steps they took to create the minimum viable product and the traction they got so far. If anyone needs a great example for how to craft a start up pitch, use this video and share it!

Today marks the first month of me joining…. soon to be revealed 🙂 I’ve been on the startup train a few times, but boarding this one feels incredibly different, and in a good way. Why? 1. People. All the folks I work with are what I consider triple threats: kind, intelligent, and humble. They make it comfortable for me to ask questions and add my two cents - without worrying about sounding “dumb”. 2. Product. It’s so exciting to witness going from nothing to something every day. Even more so, is watching the team make quick decisions, commit to improvements, and willingness to support each other. 3. Process. We are building those out as we speak! Everyone's input is taken into account, and we discuss test, and ensure they align with our culture. What's next? I'm hoping I can share more here on LinkedIn! Give me a 👍 if you think that's a good idea.

Lots of VC/startup pundits talk about hitting product market fit as quickly as possible. There's merit to that. But you know what took 17 years to find product market fit? Walmart. Sam Walton opened his first retail store in 1945. He failed a ton at this business model until opening the first Walmart in 1962. Stay in the flippin' game. Go to therapy. Learn how to stay as open to feedback and new ideas as possible. But also grind. Make small moves. Stay alive. Don't give up too quickly b/c an associate fresh out of business school doesn't get what you're doing. Create value. Don't be a jerk. Learn how to breathe while getting crushed. And stick with it.

Instacart announced Tuesday it will lay off approximately 250 workers, or roughly 7% of its total global workforce, as part of a corporate restructuring plan. Most of the layoffs will be completed by the end of March. “This will allow us to reshape the company and flatten the organization so we can focus on our most promising initiatives that we believe will transform our company and industry over the long-term,” Instacart CEO Fidji Simo said in a Tuesday letter to shareholders. “I am confident this will enable us to execute with even more focus and efficiency moving forward.” Instacart’s chief technology officer, chief operating officer and chief architect are also departing the company, Simo announced. All are leaving for personal reasons, CNBC reported. Only the CTO role will be backfilled. This is an interesting change!
