A global commitment to human rights and security 🌍 We are proud to announce that Fortescue has recently been voted as a Full Member of the Voluntary Principles Initiative (VPI). This initiative promotes a set of internationally recognised principles which guides companies on how to better conduct their security operations while respecting human rights. Over four days in Washington DC, our Human Rights and Corporate Intelligence team attended VPI's 2024 Annual Plenary Meeting, engaging with global representatives, sharing insights and strategies to prevent human rights abuses. As a global company, it is more important than ever to ensure our business practices are ethical and safe. Our membership empowers us to align our actions with these principles, collaborate on challenging issues, and ultimately leave a lasting positive impact on people and communities around the world.
We are pleased to work with Fortescue, now as a Member of the VPI, to continue implementation of human rights best practices.
Doesn’t anybody remember Murrimurran mine and plant (short memories) how Fortescue and Twiggy began? Taking Aboriginal land without paying a cent I think there is a court case ongoing or is it being buried by the Government departments??
Well done Lisa Harris. A massive amount of planning and work went into this. A great outcome.
Well done 👏
Congratulations Lisa Harris and team 👏🏼👏🏼
