Community Consultant & Content Creator | Ex. Community @ Lattice | Podcast Host @ The Community-Led Growth Show
This week alone, I’ve seen 2 notes in communities on where/how to launch a community. Here are my thoughts on starting the process to see if a Community is right for your organization: — Go on a listening tour of your internal and external stakeholders to learn what they expect, hope, & dream of for the Community program at your company 🗣️ — Set clear business outcomes 🔥 Engagement or other fluffy (aka vanity) metrics are not business outcomes — Learn how potential members what to engage, learn, and achieve by being a member — Let the information you learn from your listening tour info your platform evaluation process — Remember to continuously build with your members not for them — Create a Code of Conduct (ideally in partnership with your early, active members) ASAP ➡️ It’s a living document, to evolve as your community does too — Identify your internal stakeholders early and inform them of updates of the program often since Community is a long game 🎯 Identify leading and lagging indicators of success for each program/benefit offered to members 🚀 Sharing this incredible Community Launch Plan document (view-only) from Brian Oblinger: https://lnkd.in/gSiUeA8n ➡️ Make a copy of it to adjust it to fit the need of your specific rollout plan for your program.

Web3 Community Manager | I help web3 projects and startup founders build a thriving and engaging community. Passionate about community building through human connection.
Two well-managed areas make up a thriving community and when one is neglected, the other gets affected. These areas are simply “Engagement and Support.” Engagement and support aid in nurturing the relationship between users and the project. If one is lacking, the other wouldn't even be felt in the community. When the engagement of a community isn't well-managed, providing support to members would 100% be a problem. This is because the strategies that you apply in engaging with your community shouldn't be different from the strategies you would apply in providing support. So if community engagement is difficult to handle then providing support would be difficult as well. None of these two communities would thrive if: 1️⃣ Community A only cares about engaging with members while, 2️⃣ Community B is only concerned about providing support. Instead, the one that would thrive would be the one where the founder cares about engaging with members as much as the founder cares about providing support. Community engagement and support are crucial for a thriving and sustainable community. The energy used in engaging with members should be the same as the one required for providing support. The sky is only the beginning when you are able to get these two areas together. ___________ My name is Rachel Edeh and I help web3 founders build a thriving community or manage one. Kindly send a DM if you're a founder who needs help with building a thriving community. #web3 #founders #communityengagement #support
