Adoptability of Transitway technology between exclusive guideway and dense urban environment is very promising for many upcoming opportunities in US

The O-Bahn Busway in Adelaide, Australia, is a unique guided busway system that provides efficient and rapid transit between the northeastern suburbs and the city center. Opened in 1986, it spans approximately 12 kilometers, allowing specially designed buses to travel at high speeds along a dedicated track, bypassing regular road traffic. Similar to trains, the O-Bahn offers a smooth and uninterrupted journey, with buses running on a fixed guideway that ensures precise routing and timing.

The trouble with "trackless trams", is that they do not escape losses to rolling resistance of tires, whereas any true rail vehicle does. I have thoroughly studied this aspect (and others) for all modes of transport, but most especially last-mile distribution and delivery.
The 30-metre 'Trackless Tram' arrived in Stirling in September and is now undergoing a range of tests that will provide insight into how the vehicle operates, its impacts on the road surface, and what the ride quality is like for passengers. What impact do and can e-scooters have on urban transportation? 🛴🤔 The Berlin senate administration recently decided to limit the number of e-scooters, from currently 25.000 to only 19.000. The city of Paris decided this summer to ban the vehicles entirely. What does this mean for the concept of e-scooters? Can they have a positive impact on urban transportation at all? In October last year, Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. published results of a study they conducted together with Deutsches Institut für Urbanistik (Difu) on behalf of BMDV investigating the usage of e-scooters, but also their conflict potential and the scope of action for municipalities. The study results show that e-scooters can have a positive impact on the #transporttransition in cities – if the conditions of their usage are right. The authors conclude that it for example needs a fairer allocation of space and a better integration of e-scooters as a strategic element in the urban transport system. We are also convinced that it needs not only a variety of #sustainablemobility options in cities but also integrated access for more sustainable means of transport to become a real alternative to the private car. 📱 Read more in the study (German language only): https://lnkd.in/ea8R9Wxr

An impressive statistic, showing the value of investing in secure parking facilities across the public and private sectors which are free-to-use, quick and easy to access, complemented by the prioritisation of policing and sharing of data across relevant parties. Still more to be done in the UK's most cycle-friendly city (and where the negative experience of bike theft plus poor follow-up can act as a deterrent to owning a cycle elsewhere in the country); but conversely if we're able to get the model right there, with such a wide cross-section of the population benefiting from investment, it encourages wider roll-out.
There has been a 56% reduction in bicycle thefts in Cambridge since 2018 thanks to a partnership led by Cambridge City Council. Find out how they did it - https://ow.ly/iJIn50Qcqyx

🚀Redefining the Fastest Mode of Transport in Urban Cities 🚀 Here’s the real ranking of what truly zips through our urban jungles: 🏎 Politician Convoy: Cutting through traffic like Moses parting the Red Sea. 🚇 Metro: Because flyover or underground beats gridlock any day! 🚑 Ambulance with Siren: Whether it’s emergency or just on a coffee run—nothing stops this speedster. 🚗 Autos: The original masters of urban agility. Parking? What parking? 🛵 2-Wheeler: Dodging potholes and pedestrians like a pro. 🚙 4-Wheelers: Stuck in traffic but hey, at least the AC is on. 🚌 Public Transport Buses: Slow and steady... with a lot of stops in between. Fasten your seatbelts, the urban race is on! 😅

Ever wish that local city buses could give you the quick, convenient transit experience of light rail? That’s what Jennifer Pyrz, PE, interim president and CEO of IndyGo, has in mind for the City of Indianapolis new bus rapid transit (BRT) network. In my latest profile, I explore how Pyrz is driving the build-out of this fast, efficient, environmentally sustainable public transit network. It will connect local communities to better jobs, a more sustainable environment, and faster, more convenient transportation options. Using dedicated bus lanes, level boarding and offboard fare collection, Pyrz and IndyGo’s BRT are transforming the way public transit is done. #transitinfrastructure #batteryelectricbuses, #publictransit #sustainability

How do e-bikes compete with the other modes of transport? New research states: “E-bikes should be at the core of planning – along with other forms of active mobilities and public transport – as they are a readily available way to foster decarbonization of transport.” https://lnkd.in/eW9XGBTc
