A project we just completed at ABI Research, conducted on behalf of Boldyn Networks: we assessed and quantified the benefits of neutral host 5G networks, modeling realistic scenarios in New York City and Rome. I have to say, although we modeled a fairly conservative scenario (2-3 operators per neutral host location) the cost and energy savings are considerable. More details in the links below.

Like many parents do, I've been trying (this is the operative word) to teach my kids that sharing is caring, when they're building their "network", and surprisingly, the same applies to telecom infra as well, who would have thought?! While there are many valuable insights in this study, it vindicates the position that neutral host deployments are much more efficient from many vantage points. My team and I at Boldyn Networks are aggressively working on new solutions that are not only going to be disruptive, but more importantly, will offer much greater and greener benefits to the connectivity ecosystem. From educating kids, to approaching project bids, the message is the same!
