We welcome the fulfillment of President Biden’s promise to commute the death sentences of 37 people on federal death row. The federal death penalty – just like state capital punishment systems – is racist, error-prone, drains public resources, and does not deter crime or make our communities safer. We encourage President Biden to finish the job by commuting the remaining three federal death sentences and the four military death sentences, and we press the executives of the remaining death penalty jurisdictions to follow the Biden Administration’s lead. What many don't understand is that there are open secrets programs that are funded in the open, and there are dark programs that are funded via the $500 toilet, the $200 coffee pot, etc.... and other DOD money that is sequestered away to run these projects. This is how it is done, right or wrong, but the goal is to keep the enemy away from knowing what we're doing in these dark world secret programs. That's how the nuclear program was funded, SDI back in the 1980s, and even more recently the B-2 bomber, and the land, sea, air, and satellite-based laser and plasma weapons. How else are we developing anti-gravity aircraft?

“A three month deal”! What a terrible way to run anything, mush less a country. Hard to run our government, and impossible to elevate military R&D and subsequent capability and manpower procurement. The objective has to be an executable annual budget that is approved early enough to build off of previous efforts. This is a most critical responsibility of the legislative and executive branches of our government. On my aircraft carriers, we had a nightly meeting called “Eight O’clocks”. Attendees were the eighteen or so Department Heads, the Senior Enlisted Advisor, an Air Wing representative, and the Executive Officer. We were sequestered in a close space to address any and all issues with varying levels of lead-time. People were encouraged to be direct, while being respectful. Voices and emotions would raise occasionally as personal needs and wants were addressed. Solutions were rarely perfect, but we always came out with a vector that we all signed up to….because, the vector was required. There were no offline replays where one’s opinion was proffered, as it was all of our collective responsibility to move forward as “one team”. The aforementioned bodies-of-government should try this.

The Daily Takedown: It’s almost awe-inspiring—the sheer gall of the Democratic Coalition to feign moral indignation while willfully misrepresenting the facts. They would have you believe that addressing the very policies that may have contributed to a national tragedy is somehow an act of insensitivity. As if acknowledging reality is an insult to those who suffered. No, what’s actually insulting is their blatant attempt to shield DEI policies from scrutiny by exploiting grief as a political cudgel. Trump’s decision to highlight hiring standards in the wake of disaster isn’t “attacking” DEI—it’s recognizing that when lives are on the line, qualifications should take precedence over ideological purity. If there’s even a possibility that compromised standards played a role, a responsible leader asks those questions. But instead of engaging in an honest discussion, they shriek that Trump is “politicizing” the moment—when in reality, they are the ones using the tragedy to deflect from potential systemic failures. And let’s not forget the breathtaking irony: the same people who spent four years accusing Trump of being “reckless” are now outraged that he’s demanding accountability for aviation safety. The same crowd who insisted “lives are at stake” over COVID protocols now argue that questioning hiring policies affecting air traffic control is beyond the pale. If hypocrisy were jet fuel, these people could power the entire airline industry.

Well let's see what the investigation establishes? However, it seems like common sense, the military training helicopter should have not have been allowed to fly in commercial airspace, particularly near the airport. Who is to blame, the peeps directing the military flight -- perhaps? The air traffic controller who should have been able to redirect the path of the military training helicopter -- maybe. Antiquated transponder equipment on military equipment that makes it difficult at low altitude for air traffic control to pinpoint exactly where it is in space --- maybe (but if that is so, then common sense is you would never allow such a flight in that space at low altitude in the first place?). Maybe? But Trump has it right. This was preventable and should not have happened. Two federal agencies FAA and Defense Department are now in the cross-hairs and pretty sure, heads are going to roll and that common sense procedures, equipment, etc. are going to be implemented so this never happens again -- we know for sure as unlike Biden, Trump will be involved and on top of it and not putting a lid on it at 3 PM each day.

I happen to have been Advisor to WHs when such rare and terrible occurrences have occurred. Nothing is unnecessarily rushed -- not investigation, media releases or top levels meetings. In the WH senior Cabinet sits and waits telephones ringing and ringing. Taking a macro view of this next day the rising autocrat oligarch can attempt to micromanage government. That never works for the Executive in Chief/Commander in Chief. What serves is week to week preparation and training. What is required of a president though optional for a CEO is trusting the multi layered organization in place. We can expect 47 to seek to quickly apportion all blame far from himself and terminate a non maga loyal long service professional over this in favor of some 47 lackey. I'm sad for the families and angry that that the president does not offer cool measured response with benefit of days of discovery.
