The Swiss Government has been requested to work out a framework under which novel technologies such as cell-based or precision fermentation can be experimented with and where certain interaction would happen with customers. ❓ What will be the future food trends? I talk about it a lot in the world of finance, investing and public markets. It seems I am not alone anymore. Capital Group recently released some thematic research that aligns with the research that VegTech Invest has done for years. The research underscores the importance of a solutions-oriented ETF, such as ours, that focuses on the supply chain. Capital Group highlighted six future food trends. We concur. These six trends are 🌱 seed innovation, 🧪 lower-impact fertilizers, 🖥 precision agriculture, 🌽 regenerative farming, this means, in part, beans and legumes for crop and protein diversification, 🍄 alternative proteins for protein diversification, and 🗑 waste management and reduction. Our research and theirs shows that feeding a growing population will require new production methods to align with an intensifying focus on sustainability among regulators and consumers. New production methods working with new innovations like diversified proteins are what we need to move towards a sustainable food system that can handle the increased pressures of mounting global warming, a growing population and dwindling natural resources amid an AI world promoting transparency to the consumer along the food systems supply chain.
