Toyota, Daihatsu, and Suzuki jointly developed a mini-commercial van BEV, combining small-car expertise with Toyota’s electrification technology. CJPT (Commercial Japan Partnership Technologies Corporation) partnership was involved in bringing focus on last-mile logistics. The companies aim to achieve carbon neutrality by providing sustainable, practical BEVs that meet the delivery industry's needs for efficient transportation. I am excited to see penetration of BEVs into various sub-segments of the market. With the right partners behind, a vehicle's cost competitiveness and product power may enhance significantly. Chinese version of “cash for clunkers” arrives at an incredibly opportune time for the EV industry.. the US version of this program, back when it was launched in 2009 under President Obama, was a critical pillar of his strategy to revive a flagging economy.. Safe to say, that the same could be expected in China - reviving the economy while accelerating the transition away from fossil fuels.. With so many cheaper EVs flooding the market there is no better time for Chinese households to think about upgrading their aging vehicles to a sleeker, cleaner and more efficient option.
