As an ally committed to fostering inclusion, the campaign theme for International Women's Day 2024, "Inspire Inclusion," resonates deeply with me. In a world where diversity should be celebrated and embraced, inspiring inclusion is not just a goal but a necessity.
In my journey as an ally, I've strived to promote inclusivity in various ways. Whether it's advocating for diverse representation in leadership positions, actively giving women's voices and opinions the airtime they rightfully deserve, or challenging biases and stereotypes. I've sought to create spaces where everyone feels safe, valued, and heard regardless of gender, ethnicity, or background.
An example of inspiring inclusion is active mentorship. Myself and my colleagues, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or background, are actively mentoring and supporting aspiring women in their roles. This not only provides valuable guidance and opportunity, but also fosters a culture of inclusivity where everyone's potential can be realised.
I’m personally inspired by organisations that prioritise gender diversity and inclusion in their policies and practices and I actively seek to do so myself, here at iomart. Whether it be ensuring equal pay, calling out examples of unconscious bias or establishing flexible work arrangements, where possible, these initiatives are some that I demonstrate, while committing to create environments where people can thrive.
Unconscious bias in workplaces and hiring processes can create barriers for women in technology related roles. Biased assumptions about women's abilities and interests in technical subjects may result in fewer opportunities and less support for females in our field. I have actively encouraged my management team to regard applications from women, with equal consideration to their male counterparts with demonstrable success.
As a father of a young daughter, fostering a world where she is viewed as equivalent to any male applicant in the workplace is not only a personal aspiration but a crucial responsibility. We all need to play our part in creating that world for all of our children, regardless of gender.
I try to lead by example and demonstrate through my own actions and attitudes that gender equality is vitally important to me. I will always speak up against gender discrimination and bias, and support initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion within my teams.
As we celebrate International Women's Day 2024, let us continue to champion inclusion in all its forms. Let us inspire others to recognise the value of diversity and actively work towards creating a world where every woman feels a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. Together, we can forge a more inclusive world for women—one where their voices are not just heard but celebrated.

Happy International Women's Day 2024 😁
This years theme is Inspire Inclusion. Because when we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world.
We asked our people to think about inclusion and what it means to them. How they might champion it, any challenges they’ve seen and how they can support inclusion in their iomart roles.
Below are some of the great replies we received, either from the fantastic women already in our business, or from our male allies, who are committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within their teams.
Collectively, we can forge a more inclusive world for women.
