Interesting information about ERC calls. ERC advised to apply, since this has an influence on the global allocated budget. So, if you feel you are motivated, it is worth trying ! At best, you will get an excellent grant and will be able to work for 5 full years , in excellent conditions by concentrating solely on your project: a researcher dream ! At worst, you will "loose" time. But loose is not appropriate. In fact, whatever the outcome, you will always gain time. You took this time to think and build your project. This will be very useful for your future and is never lost. So, let's try ! Good to know that there is recognition for having children (extension of 18 months per kid). And this is a very good thing. #grant #research #europe #erc

The European Research Council (#ERC) is exploring the possibility of raising the size of its grants starting from 2027, provided it secures a larger budget in Framework Programme 10 (#FP10). As inflation drives up the cost of scientific research, current grants are losing value. In addition, demand for ERC #funding has risen sharply, particularly for advanced grants, as UK and Swiss researchers rejoin the programme. In response, the ERC's 2025 budget will be the largest ever, reaching €2.7 billion. A significant portion of this will be allocated to synergy grants, while starting and consolidator grants for early and mid-career researchers will also see substantial increases. #Innovation #research 🖇 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eBa52HWf
