Back in August 2023, we spotlighted Fond l’ampli, a community bonds initiative boosting funding for Quebec’s social purpose organizations. 🚀 Fast forward to January 2024, we highlighted Raven Indigenous Outcomes Funds, which supports Indigenous-led projects in health & climate across Canada. 🌱 Both stories emphasize community finance—a powerful tool for funding social-impact projects through donations, loans, or investments. 💸 But here’s the real question: how do we get more funds flowing into community finance? That’s where the Catalyst: Community Finance’s 2025 pre-budget recommendations come in. 💡 Here are four of them, as explained by Adam Spence, Founder and CEO at SVX: https://lnkd.in/gsqnzEv6 #futureofgood #socialfinance #communityfunding #canada #impactinvesting #socialimpact #communitydevelopment #nonprofit #philanthropy #fintech #socialinnovation #impact #socialchange #policy #fundraising

"As part of the #WHY15 campaign, Nonprofit New York celebrates a $58 million restoration to city libraries, allowing them to serve their communities on Sundays, and a number of cultural institutions were relieved to find themselves back at baseline budget levels." "It is important to note that too many nonprofits and agencies did not see crucial funding restored. Some of these nonprofits will be forced to close their doors because their organizational needs were zeroed out of the recently approved budget. Nonprofits supporting the parks and open spaces - places that are crucial to public health and safety - are forced, once again, to confront the challenges created by a consistent lack of investment and funding."
