This Friday, we're hitting our One Community core value hard with a truly special event. Partnering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP), a nonprofit dedicated to delivering fully furnished beds to children in need, we and many of our dealers are getting together for a National Build Day — with the goal of ensuring that "No kid sleeps on the floor in our town." This initiative, announced at Redefine 2024 back in April, will see us stowing our laptops and grabbing the power tools to make as many beds as possible for this very worthy project. And when it's all said and done, we're hoping this will be the largest-ever multi-location Build Day SHP has held to date. We can't wait! A year into our journey to foster an environment for community, and I couldn't be more proud. Starting a small business is hard. The current macroeconomic climate has not made the job any easier. However, we survived our first year (~20% failure rate) based strongly on the support of our community. Small businesses are critical to the local economy. At Grounded-Livermore, more than 25% of our gross revenue is returned to the community (not including payroll) to other small businesses/suppliers. And more than 1.5% of our total sales was invested back into neighbors in need, through charities, fundraisers, and more... The essence of people/community/society is to support and share through our passions and our experiences. Year two might bring even more challenges to conquer, and we'll face each challenge head-on, with our community by our side. #StayGrounded

Our Corporate Wellies know that it's important to give support to the communities that they're a part of. That's why our friends at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas packed up two cars full of unused office supplies and drove them all the way from Dallas to our side of Fort Worth! Not to be outdone, some very community-minded individuals from Vantage Bank helped us sort and organize these supplies for easy shopping for our educators! We had to force them to all stop working for a minute so we could commemorate this joining-of-forces! If you work for a corporation or large business, there are some unique ways that you can support our effort to clean up and educate the DFW: 👉 Ask about VTO (volunteer time off) - get paid to support educators! 👉 Look into donation or gift matching - double your contribution to our cause! 👉 Save unused or wasted supplies - educators can use everything! 👉Be a matchmaker - If your org is looking for a way to give back, we can help! Have you heard about our Thrive Together program? We believe marketing services should be more accessible to those who face disadvantages in business due to lack of access to funding, marginalization, or physical or mental health challenges. That's why we started our Thrive Together program! 1-2% of our gross income goes into a special fund that allows us to give marketing credits to organizations that are: 1) 501c3 Nonprofit Serving a Local Community 2) Woman or Minority Owned Business (at least 50%) 3) Military Veteran or First Responder-owned business (at least 50%) This program is entirely self-funded because these are my people. I'm a military mom x2, and a law enforcement officer wife. I'm a woman business owner. I have worked in nonprofits and raised support. If you'd like to apply for a Thrive Together credit, hit me up on my DMs or fill out the application on our website! https://lnkd.in/ggWnntvx

Consistency compounds excellence. Whether it's exercising daily, practicing an instrument, or fundraising successfully, habits are the backbone of any worthwhile pursuit for a nonprofit. That's why I've made this appeal checklist (https://buff.ly/3SFAbpr) a new habit for my team. We review it before launching any campaign to ingrain proven best practices. It strengthens skills over time by highlighting potential blindspots and reminding us of easy-to-overlook details that inspire more giving. An invaluable tool for developing outstanding fundraising abilities.
