That's a wrap on the inaugural #SupportworksBuildDay, and what an incredible day with Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Along with the team at Thrasher Foundation Repair, we reached our goal of 150 beds here in Omaha—huge shout-out to these two teams for absolutely crushing it. With over 130 kids currently in need, these beds will go to homes within the next week or two. 🙌🏼 And, a huge thank you to all the participating dealers across the Network who joined us today with their local SHP chapters to make this day such a success. We've loved seeing your posts so far—keep them coming! We can't wait to check in next week for more updates. (If you'd like to see updates from the entire day, please visit our Facebook and Instagram pages.) #RedefineOurCommunity #RedefineOurIndustry #OneCommunity #Community #CommunityService #SleepInHeavenlyPeace #SHP #TeamSupportworks #TeamThrasher #SupportworksNation #OneTeam

#ParentingTipNumber6 Take the time to use your time and talent to serve others in your neighborhood and community. Setting the example for our children, by using our time, our talent and our abilities to serve others give them a picture of what it means to be part of a neighborhood and a community. When we discuss the service that we’re giving and why we’re giving it we give children a clear picture of what it means to be a good neighbor and a good service oriented person. Be sure to take your kids with you from time to time. Talk about what you’re doing and ask them about things that may be important for them and serving neighbors and other community members.

Orchard Place is the only provider in Iowa certified by The Sanctuary Institute. This certification symbolizes our organization’s commitment to providing a higher level of care, a trauma-sensitive environment for the children and families we serve, and a better work environment for our team members. One easy way to use Sanctuary values is by holding a "Community Meeting" where the following questions are asked: How are you feeling today? The purpose of this question is to help all of us recognize our feelings and to manage them. What are your goals for today? Asking this question keeps us focused on the future. Who can you ask for help? The purpose of this question is to build our relationships with each other and to know we are not in this alone. #OrchardPlaceStrong #CommunityMeeting #Support #ChildrensMentalHealth #ConnectedToFeelings

#CivicChats - Why a Community? Hello. Hello, #Civicchats, and this one today is continuing the theme of community. This post is inspired by a few different LinkedIn connections. It's all about thinking and understanding what it is you expect from a community. What type of community would you like to build and, as such, I am wondering what the benefits might be. Community is foundational for me, particularly when things are not going so well. It's like my adoptive family because I don't have any immediate family here in the USA. You can go to the community for support. You can go to the community for advice. Furthermore, you can go to the community to say hi. Interested in learning what are your thoughts? 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝒂 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚? If so, do you want help doing that? Because I can help you. Thanks, CivicChats, and comm #simplerfasterbetter #community https://lnkd.in/gK3HcruS

"...revolution begins with the self and in the self.” -Toni Cade Bambara This quarter, I encourage us to explore community, service, and the act of giving back. 1. What and who make up your community? 2. What is your role in that community? 3. What roles do you take outside of your community? 4. Are there any expectations or responsibilities that come with your role in and out of your community? 5. What are ways you can give back to your community? Can your role in the community leverage the ability to give back? I challenge us to explore these questions and create an action item to GIVE BACK. Let's continue to challenge for a better path for ourselves AND acknowledge where we're able to pave paths in kind. #thoughtfulthursday #community #service

The Power of Community 💯 Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about how important community is in both our personal and professional lives. Over the past year, I’ve seen firsthand how being part of a supportive network can make such a big difference. Here are a few things I've learned: 1.Different Perspectives Matter: Talking to people from various backgrounds has shown me new ways to solve problems and think creatively. 2. Support is Everything: Having a group to rely on for advice and encouragement helps tackle challenges much easier. 3. Sharing Knowledge: When we share what we know and learn from each other, we all grow together. 4. Giving Back: Helping others in the community is not just fulfilling but also strengthens the entire network. I’m grateful for the connections I’ve made here and look forward to continuing to build and strengthen our community. How has being part of a community helped you? I’d love to hear your stories! Thanks for being part of my journey! #letsconnect #connections #community #fellows #thankyou

"Community service" - two simple words but the impact they can carry is enormous. Have you ever wondered why serving the community should matter to you? I am here to tell you exactly why. Serving the community isn't just about being kind or generous. It's about improving lives, including our own. When we share our wealth with those in need, we're not just giving away money or possessions, we're giving hope, strength, and a chance for betterment. Committing to serve the community not only fosters a sense of compassion and empathy within us but also helps us grow as individuals. Studies show that people who actively serve their communities tend to be happier, more fulfilled, and live a more balanced life. It opens up opportunities for personal and professional growth. Moreover, the ripple effects of your actions can lead to community-wide improvements. What starts as an individual act can transform into a collective movement for betterment, ultimately benefiting everyone involved. So, the next time you wonder about the benefits of serving the community or sharing your wealth with those in need, remember – it's not just about what you are giving, it's about what you are receiving in return. What's been your most rewarding experience when serving the community? #CommunityService #PersonalGrowth
