This summer we kicked-off a 2-year research study that looks to inform sustainable building investments for our Safety Rest Area program, which includes about 50 locations Statewide. I am serving as the Technical Liaison. While we are proud of the sustainable advancements made in our more recent building projects, which include numerous awards; we also recognize that not all facilities require major reconstruction (some have great 'bones' aka embodied energy), nor do we have the resources to reconstruct all of these locations to modern energy efficiency standards at this time. This study will help to provide targeted investment strategies that can promote energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and be efficiently implemented. https://lnkd.in/g6JA2XeJ

Happy Earth Day! At U.S. Engineering, we are dedicated to a sustainable future in the built environment. Today we highlight the recent State of Colorado Benchmarking & Building Performance Standards Program. This initiative is a big step toward greener buildings and a healthier planet. It sets clear performance standards to ensure buildings are more energy-efficient, reducing their impact on our environment. Coloradans, we’re here to help guide you through the changes you need to make and where on the State website you can go to make them. Non-Coloradans, we’re keeping track of evolving regulations in your area and are poised to help you achieve compliant, comfortable, and more-sustainable buildings. https://bit.ly/3Up8ymt #EarthDay #Sustainability #MechanicalContracting #EnergyEfficiency

At US-EcoLogic, we're not just consultants in energy and green verification - we're active participants in the real-world implementation of building science, energy efficiency, and green building practices. We're proud to share how our commitment to issue-based research and formal studies is shaping the future of sustainable construction. 🌱Industry Related Research: As green building protocols and energy codes evolve, we encounter challenges that demand further investigation and analysis. Our team excels at conducting issue-based research, leveraging over a decade of field-tested knowledge to find practical solutions. By staying informed about emerging technologies and products, and maintaining close relationships with industry stakeholders like the EPA, USGBC, and Home Innovations Research Lab, we ensure that our clients receive the most innovative and effective solutions. 🌱Client Based Research: When our clients integrate green building practices into their projects, questions inevitably arise regarding the impact and cost-effectiveness of certain techniques. We collaborate closely with building owners, developers, architects, and consultant teams to provide them with the insights and tools they need to make informed decisions that align with their performance and certification goals. 🌱Formal Research: US-EcoLogic is proud to partner with esteemed organizations such as the Department of Energy's Building America Partnership for Improved Residential Construction (DOE BA-PIRC). Through this partnership, we've conducted in-depth studies on deep energy retrofits in collaboration with the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Our research has provided invaluable insights into residential retrofit efficiency measures, energy-use simulations, and post-retrofit utility data analysis. The results of our analysis have enabled us to offer homeowners accurate predictions on the effectiveness and cost savings of various retrofit measures. Our findings are documented in reports such as "The Next Step Toward Widespread Residential Deep Energy Retrofits," available for download since July 2013. #USEcologic #Sustainability #EcoFriendly #GreenBuilding #SustainableResearch #SustainableConstruction

At Green Building Design, we believe in practical energy efficiency, not perfection. As engineers and businesspeople, we understand that energy efficiency is about what's possible, not an unattainable ideal. That’s why we created ‘Energy Feasibility – Powered by GBD,’ a solution designed specifically for commercial landlords aiming to improve their building's Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating ahead of the forthcoming MEES Regulations. This comprehensive report on your building's energy efficiency, and its recommendations for actions, is realistic, pragmatic, and affordable. The approach is simple: secure compliance and revenue now - explore further enhancements later. The result? Greener buildings, greater returns, and peace of mind in a changing EPC landscape.🌱 Learn more in our latest blog: https://lnkd.in/eQXnNSNi #sustainability #MEES #EPC #compliance #greenbuilding #buildingdesign #greenbuildings #constructionUK #landlords

Holistic human energy coach. Breath coaching. Complex energy system specialist. Electric and hybrid system architect and consultant
2moFrom a younger age, I did a similar project with my semi-detached 1976 family home. Originally build with 1x25A grid connecting and a gasline, it now can accomodate my family and provide enough energy for my EV to drive my annual 24.000 km using a grid connecting of just 1x10A. Main difference from this wonderfull building in Amsterdam is the clever software. My clever software is my own head, setting the energy requirements for the house daily in a 5 minute session. For those interested in money. My old house and ICE would have costs me annually somewhere between 6.000 to 7.000 euro's. The same comfort as before with same distance travelled in my ICE now goes for around 300 - 400 euro's.
