A total of 61 Diversity CRNA events that transitioned 820 of these nurses into CRNAs today. This does not take into account the 140 nurse anesthesia students of color currently enrolled into graduate programs. Organized and promoted by ACRP - Association of Clinical Research Professionals since 2014, #ClinicalTrialsDay is celebrated on May 20 as a joyful opportunity to pause in reflection, recognition, and admiration of all that has been accomplished thanks to #clinicaltrials and the people behind them. Clinical Trials Day is celebrated globally each May 20 to recognize the day in 1747 that James Lind, a ship’s surgeon in the British Royal Navy, started what is often considered to be the first randomized #clinicaltrial. In this case, it was to study the effects of different treatments on #scurvy, a disease caused by a deficiency of #vitaminC, and a major scourge for sailors on long voyages. Amazingly, Lind had found a cure for scurvy--after carrying out a clinical trial in only 12 people, of whom only two received the active treatment of citrus fruits. Many historians believe that the prevention and treatment of scurvy using citrus was the single most important factor in enhancing the physical health of the British fleet. In the world of #clinicalresearch, the path forward is forged through the relentless pursuit of knowledge, an exacting application of best practices, and an unwavering commitment to championing patient well-being. Just like medical school, it's a path that can be walked at any life stage. Sure, there are considerations, like the duration of the educational journey, but it's never too late. Don't let self-doubt set your expiration date. Having had over 100 game plan calls with ICU nurses, the prevailing barrier isn't age—it's limiting beliefs. You've got potential, experience, and resilience. Let's shift the narrative from "I'm too old" to "I'm ready for the challenge." Your journey might be unique, but that doesn't make it less valid. The state of New York has it right!... easing restrictions on PA practice increases access to care for Americans. Help us in Maryland get the PA Modernization Act (SB 0167) passed!! We need your help to get a strong vote in committee, both chambers of the Maryland General Assembly, and to get the bill signed by the Governor. The legislation addresses the following issues for PAs: -->Moving away from “supervision” to describe the nature of the PA working relationship with physicians and replacing it with “collaboration.” -->Eliminating delegation agreements and replacing them with collaboration registrations. -->Allowing scope of practice to be based upon a PA’s education, training, experience, and competencies rather than the physician’s scope.
