Tech, Product and Growth Partner for VCs and Founders, Tech Expert turned Venture Builder. Hands-on Product Work, Tech + Product + Culture Growth Expert, Product Startup Mentor. Political Activist. Founder.
Had yet another super fun evening of pitching and feedback organized by Kai Malkwitz and Founder Institute Berlin / Germany - the new Fall 2024 Impact Cohort is on! Together with incredible mentors Leehe Skuler Jonathan Eade Dr. Andreas M. Rickert we helped new founders refine their pitches: how impactful can the idea be? How do we measure it? What audience do we attract? The main weak spot was Problem-Solution Fit, the Impact Space seems larger than life: we are solving the big world problems with our little ideas, but that is not the case. Refining the Problem-Solution space is a helpful exercise, how to do it? 1. If you have an idea for a product: identify who will come back to you on a recurrent basis and will be willing to pay for your solution every day/month/year etc 2. If you have a problem you want to solve: identify who is at the root cause (it can be many user groups) and try to solve their problem first, then take Step 1 again.

Strategic Partnerships & Biz Dev Leader - Life Science, MedTech, Digital Health | Builder, Connector, Advisor
Had a great time with friends and fellow panelists Kristin King, MBA, Sarah Benson-Konforty, MD, Tari Suprapto and Stella K. Vnook in reviewing pitch decks from some amazing founders in Bullpen's network and connecting with others who joined from all over the country and also globally. a few quick takes from the event yesterday: - Invest the time, energy and maybe $ in a visually appealing pitch deck with content that is sticky (in a good way;-) - for an intro pitch deck, keep it short and sweet and a real teaser so as to land a meeting with the investor. - highlight your unfair advantage after touching upon the problem and the solution - Make sure you have identified the right investors and that you are mission-aligned with their investment philosophies, so choose wisely who you spend your time with Investing in innovative startups is a human business and it really takes a village to build a startup. Thanks Christiaan Engstrom and Laura Farley, CRPC for helping build that community through Bullpen

So many of you are at investor conferences this week. My suggestion to you is that it's totally OK (and in some instances preferable) to reference other bigger companies in your industry as you map out your role in the ecosystem. Investors often understand these bigger companies better...so referencing them acts as a "sign-post" to show where you live. When you do this, you'll start to see a lot of nodding heads in the audience, and that's step one to getting people to understand your story.

Founder/Managing Partner @ Widelab | Product & Marketing Design for SaaS | Helping Start-ups to take their product to the next level
I've always wondered how to highlight the value Widelab delivers to its clients quickly. 💡 After struggling to showcase who our clients truly are without creating long case studies or quick abstract Dribbble shots, we came up with the idea! Let’s show a wall of clients featuring screenshots of the real work we’ve done. What’s the impact? Take a look here: https://lnkd.in/dteiRM_9 - 9 Unicorns; 🦄 - 9 Market leaders; 🏃♂️ - Over 300 clients served and counting; 🐐 Each client had different goals and journeys, so in the following posts - I will try to share what I’ve learned from each business relationship. Enjoy!
