Wow! We’ve absolutely loved the Decoding the Future of Women sessions this week hosted by the FemTech Lab at CodeNode London. So many inspiring women (and men), so many rich insights, and so much work left for us to do! Here are some of our personal highlights from the event: Jasmine Gupta ☀️ Favourite moment: Together we Rise ☀️ My highlight was hosting incredible individuals for a dinner in which we got a chance to celebrate their contribution to Women's Health and discuss how we can work together to enact societal change at scale. There is so much work left to do, and the only way we will get there is for startups, corporates, investors, NGOs, research institutes, governments and each and every one of us to lean in! Many thanks to Ida Tin, Alexi Coffey, Alice Pelton, Abigail Dogruoz and Nina Patrick, PhD for their incredible insight and support. Ellie Walford 🧫 Favourite Fact: Petri Dish Patriarchy🧫 My highlight was understanding the ongoing challenge to implement technology in a way which protects patient outcomes. Dr Helen O'Neill (Hertility) and Teodora Popa, PhD (Avenues) emphasised the need to train AI on trusted datasets through their shocking discovery that the algorithms used to grade embryos for IVF implantation were biased in favour of male embryos (!). Rheea Bhayani 🔥 Favourite moment: Fierce FemTech 🔥 My highlight was hearing from the founders who have stayed true to their mission of solving for women’s needs through thick and thin. These women have been in the trenches, gained traction and recently raised despite the odds! Memorable quote: “Start-up life is not about being a unicorn, it’s about being a cockroach and staying alive” - Hannah Samano. Huge thanks to Alice Pelton, Hannah Samano, Dr. Sioned Fôn Jones, Laura Vidal Borrell, MBA, MTH for their insights. Livia Solustri 🧬 Favourite Moment: Ovarian Superpower 🧬 My highlight was hearing from Jennifer Garrison that ovaries are architects of health in the female body, and should not be thought about just as reproductive organs (but as endocrine organs!). Ovarian health is about so much more than fertility and ‘the menopause’ - ovaries are a powerful engine of health. As we learn more about the power of the ovaries, we will unlock incredible health insights for women, but also for me men! (thank you to Dr Jack Kreindler for this final nugget!) Oh, and hearing Stasa Stankovic say: “What we eat can also impact our offsprings' menopause” genuinely blew my mind. We look forward to building a more equitable future together! 🚀 #FemTech #Technology #Health

Thank you so much for sponsoring this event. It was outstanding.

Brilliant summary - I thought the whole event highlighted how this is a community of people who really care and won't be stopping until we see the change that needs to happen in women's health!
