Having recently co-authored this white paper on how to successfully scale innovation in digital health, it was wonderful to attend the brilliant health.tech conference in Munich with Rotimi Soyombo earlier this month and hear the same themes being discussed by founders, investors and healthcare leaders. I particularly enjoyed listening to Lucy Jones, Philip Heimann, Dr. Friderike Bruchmann, Maximilian Greschke and Farina Schurzfeld discuss the secrets behind successful go-to-market strategies in the healthcare space. Their conversation touched upon some key insights that I wanted to share: 🧭 When navigating multiple markets it is helpful to build flexible platforms, as the element that is reimbursed will vary significantly between different healthcare systems 📈 Revenue growth typically comes from finding a small number of customers who really want your product, rather than spreading yourself too thin across a larger number of lukewarm customers 🚫 Startups should avoid short-term pilots or co-development opportunities - instead, focus on building a finished product that customers want and validate that there is true product-market fit through revenue generation 💰 Healthcare providers will only invest money in a solution if there is a clear return on investment, so it’s important to have a sharp message on why hospitals (or other service providers) will benefit from buying the product Thanks again to everyone who contributed to the paper - it was fantastic to meet so many people who share my passion for using technology to deliver better healthcare. #digitalhealth #healthtech #innovation
