At FCM, there are a number of ways we promote the use of Te Reo Māori in the workplace. In addition to what you see in the video below, this year, for Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, we're showing our tautoko by adding bilingual signage in our Auckland HQ, and encouraging our people to learn some travel related Reo through fun morning Kahoot quizzes.
How do you promote the use of Te Reo Māori in your workplace?

We have lift off 🚀 🚀 🚀
As many of you saw last week I officially launched Liminos. Thank you to everyone who liked and commented – super exciting!
I’ve had many questions about our name, Lisa Meyers being one.
One person asked 'Is it named after a Greek Taverna?' so I thought I should set the record straight and explain the origins of the name - and how it optimises our mission to help drive real impact from digital and data.
The name comes from the word ‘liminal’, which means ‘on the threshold’, or ‘at a transitional stage in a process’.
This is exactly where Liminos can help. We help organisations take the next step:
🙏 Help take the step from confusion to clarity
🆕 Help take the step from traditional to modern
📱 Help take the step from analogue to digital
And most importantly… we help organisations take the next step to create real value and impact for business, people and the planet - our shared purpose.
Let me know if you would like to chat about how Liminos can help you.

I've relocated back to Malaysia after living in New Zealand for 10 years.
Living in this multicultural country is a real blessing as a foodie and we get to celebrate so many different cultural festivals (LNY, Diwali, Eid, Christmas etc)
With a multicultural and multilingual population of 33 million people, the market competition is intense in every industry, especially in advertising and marketing - an area of my passion since tertiary education.
I always enjoy watching all the TV ads around festive seasons as telcos, banks, F&B brands all compete for the lucrative spending dollars by consumers ready to splurge a fair bit to celebreate with family and friends.
How lucrative?
1. According to Statista, Malaysia's advertising expenditure (ADEX) in 2022 was RM6.18 billion. The majority of the ADEX was allocated to digital (61%), followed by TV (15%), out-of-home (12%), radio (7%), and print (5%).
2. For 2024, ad spending in Malaysia is projected to reach US$1,764 million. The largest market is TV & Video Advertising, with a market volume of US$406.10 million.
I was recently hooked by an ad from McDonald's sung in Malay language. It's their highest viewed ad in the last 6 months with 6.7m views. Their highest ad is 20m views from 6 years ago. This ad ticked the 5 key criteria for a great TV ad.
✅ Clear Message
✅ Emotional Appeal
✅ Creativity
✅ Relevance
✅ Memorability
You don't have to understand Malay to love this ad. They also verbify the noun "kopi“ (coffee) into "mengopi".
Well played Maccus! 😎
