A lack of proper documentation can create problems for contractors when dealing with time or cost extensions. As a contractor, it's not your responsibility to figure out where your client's funds will come from for the project you're hired to do. Your role is to engage in meaningful conversations with them and provide suitable options to deliver a product that meets their needs. 1) You could suggest scaling down the project slightly to fit within their predetermined budget. 2) You might propose a good-better-best scenario, allowing them to choose an option that aligns with their financial capacity. 3) Always keep financing as an option on the table. These choices can help you work with your client and find a solution that works for both parties.
