Solar panels are great sources of renewable energy however solar farms use up valuable farmland that could be producing food products. Rooftop solar is a great way to reduce carbon footprint while still keeping land free for farming and create a more sustainable environment.

Another reason to make sure you only used registered and qualified electricians for your work. Here we were called out to an EV install, whereby it kept coming up with fault codes and failing to charge. We noticed numerous installation issues, however one of the main ones was this. Whoever installed this charger clearly didn’t know what they were doing. The CT Clamp has been installed inside the charger, this is a safety feature to monitor and limit the load the charger can pull. This should be installed either at the meter box or within the consumer unit on the incoming tails. No wonder this charger is having issues! We are experienced EV and Solar Installers, contact us today for a free quote, and an install you know you can trust! #spotonelectrical #spotonelectricalservices #spotonelectricalmidlands #electrician #electrics #swadlincoteelectricians #swadlinecote #domestic #commercial #industrial #electricalwork #napit #localelectrician #solarspecialists #renewableenergy #electriciansofinstagram #electriciansoffacebook #ohmeev #evcharger #evchargerfaultfind

While solar panel systems are different from standard electricity systems for buildings, they still bring the same dangers as any other electrical system. Many practical, safety, and legal reasons exist that govern why every solar system, whether for a residential home or large commercial building, needs warning labels and placards. 1- Comply With Legal Requirements To start, a solar panel system for a home or building must have warning labels and safety placards by law. The National Electric Code (NEC), which details safety precautions and measures for all electrical systems, outlines the code solar power systems must follow. 2- Protect Residents Another reason photovoltaic (PV) labels and placards are important for safety is they help protect residents and guests of homes and commercial buildings, the solar PV labels are there to protect residents and ensure they don’t accidentally break something. 3- Help Workers A practical benefit of safety warnings and labels for PV systems is they make the job of the maintenance workers and electricians much easier. 4- Safeguard Emergency Personnel Another reason we have the NEC code for safety protocols is for the safety of emergency personnel like firefighters. If there’s a fire at or nearby , the electrical system presents an immense danger to the emergency personnel working to extinguish it. PV solar labels must include vital information like the rated maximum power point circuit, the maximum system voltage, the short-circuit current, and more. Plus, solar PV systems must have equipment and components clearly labeled, such as the following parts: * AC disconnects * DC junction boxes * Inverters * Combiner boxes * And more If any of these labels are missing or don’t include the required information, the system is not up to code. This poses a danger to workers and could result in a fine or other penalty for the owner. Solar safety warning labels are a small but vital component in the overall safety strategy of solar PV systems. They ensure clear communication of hazards, facilitate compliance with international standards, and provide critical information for maintenance and emergency response. Here’s a great example of what we see on some rooftops. This Cheltenham factory had invested in a 400 solar panel installation, which was fantastic! Unfortunately they experienced a rooftop fire, caused by water accumulating inside the DC rooftop isolation switches. Our techs were called to the scene & believe the fire was the result of poor sealing of both the DC rooftop isolation switches and incoming conduits, allowing water ingress. Over time water had reached the DC cable connections inside, which caused a DC electrical short circuit. The resulting fire burnt one solar panel, 4 DC isolation switches and the associated wiring, along with the 25KW 3-phase inverter. Fortunately the fire was contained & the damage was limited to these components. Solar is a great investment, but we see examples every day of installations that have become a ‘set & forget’ asset. These systems sit, largely unseen, on a rooftop where components are subjected daily to UV and a broad spectrum of weather conditions. This fire & many other solar faults can be avoided with a simple 2-yearly maintenance program. On this Cheltenham job our team replaced the damaged panel, inverter, isolation switches and components, then tested the system to ensure that it’s now fully functioning again. #solarpower #solarmaintenance #repairandmaintenance #renewableenergy

Are you a roofer, HVAC professional, or another home contractor? Are you looking for new ways to grow your business and create a new cash flow? Have you considered solar? (check out the videos below) "When we started looking at solar one of the most attractive things is not just how it fits into the conversation but the average ticket is so much higher on that. So that's what got me interested." "Like wow, we can really drive our average revenue, our average ticket. Well, when I saw the compensation plan under Powur Solar it's like you mean I can get this $6000 dollars or thereabouts in gross profit without having to do anything except refer the customer!" Director at Eco Group Hull Ltd | Taking the headache out of finding a reliable contractor | Commercial & Domestic Plumbing, Heating & Electrical Contractors
‼️Landlords, Lettings and Estates agents… or anyone really, I am all ears for this one‼️ So here goes… a small part of our business (but an equally as important part) is completing Gas and Electrical safety checks on properties for private Landlords, as well as Lettings and Estate Agents across the city and surrounding areas for both commercial and residential…but here is what is leaving me scratching my head this morning 🫤 For the 3rd time in about 6 months, I have come out of a planning meeting perplexed after hearing that a Lettings Agent is not happy that our engineers are flagging things on reports that have never been picked up before or condemning appliances that ‘their other guy’ would have just signed off!!!! What in the actual….. 🤯 This is peoples safety we are talking about here, if you live in a rented property how would you feel if ‘their guy’ just signed it off without doing the required checks or just did visual inspection without using the correct testing equipment to record required data. What also is very alarming is the fact that ‘so called’ competent & registered engineers under whatever gas or electrical scheme is putting themselves at risk of prosecution just to keep these agents happy! [Not saying this is the case with all agents] We have built some fantastic relationships in this industry with likeminded companies and individuals who just get it; who want quality, professional work for their tenants….why cut corners, why risk your business reputation, why risk someone safety to save a few quid!!! 💷 If you want a job doing, get it done right in the first place. What is that saying, “Get it done right or get it done twice”. Anyway, that is my Tuesday rant and I would really love to hear any comments on this because as I always say; every job no matter how big or small gets the same Eco love 💚so why should this division not?! #landlords #gas #electrical #safety #residential #commercial #estateagents #lettingagents #hull #questionoftheday #help #qualitymatters #plumbing #heating #electricalcontractor #renewables #teameco
