2024 is going to be an exciting year for me as I focus on two main initiatives. The first is teaching, speaking, and consulting more with nonprofits, government entities, and social enterprises on how to use low-code technology to 'Activate' data via my DATA Activation Framework. The second is getting visualytics.io to a beta launch. I'm thrilled to share more about this journey on LinkedIn and my personal blog. Stay tuned for updates on these exciting projects! #datamanagement #nonprofitdata #data #analytics

So, what are some creative ways you use open-ended questions to gather rich data in your surveys? #SurveyDesign #DataDrivenDecisions

Be like an inquisitive 5 year old with ALL things.... Always ask…. 👉 Who? 👉 What? 👉 When? 👉 Where? 👉 Why? ...👉 But why? ......👉 Why again.... 👉 How? Data must have context for proper interpretation, understanding, and application. I’ll expand on this further after I’ve shared it with The Data Fluent community. 😉 If you want in before the general public, check the link below. Data Deets are dropped on Wednesdays!! ---------- Find this valuable? Repost to help others ♻️. Ten years ago, 𝗛𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗪𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗺’𝘀 𝙏𝙞𝙙𝙮 𝘿𝙖𝙩𝙖 revolutionized R coding. I want to start blogging more, and I decided to start today with a true labor of love ❤️ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜 Ten years ago today, “Tidy Data” by Hadley Wickham was published in the Journal of Statistical Software. In honor of this anniversary, and because it is one of my favorite academic articles of all time, I present to you my 10 most valuable lessons learned from the “Tidy Data” paper that sparked a whole 'verse: ✨ Data tidying (and data cleaning more broadly) is vital work and deserves just as much rigor as building models. ✨ Tidy data follow a clear set of rules. ✨ Finding problems can be just as important as finding solutions. ✨ Talking (and writing) about manipulating data is not trivial. ✨ Tidy data make data analysis easier. ✨ There is a difference between recording, presenting, and analyzing data. ✨ Defining data is very context dependent. ✨ Improve your work by finding connections to other disciplines. ✨ It’s important to demonstrate humility when communicating your work. ✨ Your experience is valuable and others can learn from it. Conveying progress and benefits to diverse stakeholders is crucial in #GrantManagement That's why I think the best way to communicate the impact of grant programs is to use data visualization more. You've got a bunch of different stakeholders to keep happy in the grant world. Funders, distributors, recipients, contractors... the list goes on. And they all speak different languages when it comes to data: 🏛️ Government funders? They want cold, hard numbers. 👥 Community groups? They're after the heartwarming progress stories. Data visualisation bridges this gap: ✅ Condenses lengthy reports into concise visuals ✅ Makes complex financial information more accessible ✅ Helps internal teams connect their work to real-world impact A 1000-word report can often be distilled into a single, powerful chart. Using data to tell your impact story is the best way to inspire your team and show them how their daily efforts are driving significant community benefits.
