EV values have fallen almost weekly since July 2022, according to our client, used-vehicle open derivatives market Exponential Markets' used-EV value index. "The index quantifies how wholesale values fluctuate across the used-EV market, adjusting for differences in model mix, vehicle characteristics and mileage," said Paul Fortin, co-founder and head of finance at Exponential. EV repair costs and steep loss of value are big issues in the NA market. Perhaps cheap fuel erodes to some extent the ev advantage also.
