Allow me to shed some light on the situation: 💡 Parallel Seismic is a widely-used method to assess the depth of existing deep foundations and other subsurface structures without causing damage. To perform the test, a borehole is dug, extending beyond the expected length of the structure. A PVC access tube is installed and filled with water. A precise hydrophone is slowly lowered down the tube to record readings. At the surface, the foundation is struck, creating stress waves (P-Wave) received by the hydrophone. The test continues until the hydrophone can no longer detect stress waves, allowing engineers to determine the length of the unknown foundation. Do you have foundations with an unknown depth.
