FPT Industrial has once again established itself as the powertrain selected by the leading teams in the most extreme rally-raid in the world. As the Exclusive Technical Partner of the de Rooy FPT Teams, we powered them across 8,000 kilometers and 12 grueling stages in the Saudi Arabian desert. Once again, they demonstrated incredible strength, determination, and resilience in the face of the world’s most challenging rally. Ales Loprais and his crew secured 3rd place with the IVECO Powerstar, powered by our CURSOR 13 engine, delivering unmatched power, efficiency, and reliability under the harshest conditions. Vaidotas Zala, a new entry to Skuba Team de Rooy FPT, and Anja Van Loon (Fried Van de Laar Racing Team de Rooy FPT) showcased exceptional skill. Žala earned six podium finishes, while Van Loon secured a fourth-place stage finish. Their fifth and eighth overall rankings mark their best results in the competition. After a short hiatus, AMG-badged S-class makes its grand re-entry to the prestige-on-wheels class using the bones from the current production Benz S-class mated with a promising high-power hybrid powertrain. For a long time, Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team has worked to develop a high-performance battery that could deliver consistent performance at the highest level of motorsports. The most powerful S-class ever offered is propelled by a 603hp twin-turbo V8 engine up front, with help from a 188hp motor for the rear axle. Their combined efforts produce 791 horsepower and 1055 pound-feet of torque for the sedan’s all-wheel-drive system to process. A nine-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (while a two-speed transmission is integrated at the rear axle for the electric motor) handles shifting and, to help this barge of power navigate traffic and parking spots, AMG includes rear-axle steering as standard equipment. It is estimated that S63 can make it to 60mph in just 2.8 seconds. That’s quicker than the feistiest version of standard Benz S-class, which takes 3.9 seconds to reach 60mph in testing. Given the massive power available to hurl it down the road, one can suspect that S63 E Performance will be even quicker than its maker claims. S63 also uses an AMG Ride Control air suspension, AMG Active Ride Control stabilization, and rear-axle steering as standard equipment which makes this S63 feel easy to maneuver. #s63 #amg #mercedes #mercedesbenz #armored #bulletproof

French passion + german engineering = Success?! Official confirmation from Alpine Formula One Team of a new partnership with Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team has dropped. It is no secret that Alpine isn't where they were hoped they will be this close to the end of the 2024 season and hedge their bets with one of the most successful teams from Formula 1. Traditionally supplied with power units made by Renault, this shift could mean either: a) Renault Group intends to focus more on the larger needs of the group b) Pressure to deliver results have pushed top-management from Alpine to outsource not only the engine, but also the gearbox to Mercedes. With the 2025 season shaping up to be one for the history books with new drivers, a dominant of Max Verstappen not looking to undefeatable, new driver pairings and further advancements in the technology made, could this be the golden ticket for Alpine?

Visualizing the airflow around Mercedes' sidepods 🏎️ Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team introduced a zero-pod design in 2022, but had to switch to a more conventional one mid-2023. They progressively mitigated the car's high drag, but the gain in downforce wasn't as apparent. A zero-pod design is expected to produce MORE drag, as the sidepod does not shield the rear tyres from the incoming airflow. 🎥 tw/justf1car & tw/FDataAnalysis
