🚀 Framatome achieves new critical U.S. NRC approval in development of advanced nuclear fuel technology     We are proud to announce that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has approved a license amendment, allowing #Framatome to transport fresh nuclear fuel assemblies with U-235 enrichments up to 8% weight. This regulatory milestone strengthens our ability to deliver innovative fuel solutions to light water reactor operators across the U.S.   🔑 With this approval, Framatome takes a significant step forward in advancing nuclear technology, contributing to safer, more reliable, and economically viable electricity generation.   💬 “This is a major step toward our commitment to be reload ready with higher enriched and higher burnup fuel by 2027 for the current nuclear fleet,” said Lionel GAIFFE, Senior Executive Vice President, Fuel Business Unit at Framatome. “We appreciate the support from the NRC in our initiative to deliver advanced fuel products to the industry, and this regulatory milestone further demonstrates our leadership.”   As part of our Advanced Fuel Management program, Framatome continues to lead the way in developing cutting-edge fuel technologies to meet the evolving needs of the nuclear industry. As our industry gears up for the next generation of nuclear reactors, it’s paramount for Framatome to also maintain and modernize the existing nuclear fleet. Framatome is proud to support the Arkansas Nuclear One nuclear power plant, operated by Entergy Nuclear, Inc., for the replacement of the reactor vessel closure head for Unit 2. “ANO is a much-needed source of safe, clean and reliable energy for the people of Arkansas. Framatome nuclear fuel supply for the Slovakian VVER reactors ! We are pleased to announce a major contract signed between Framatome and Slovenské elektrárne for the long-term supply of nuclear fuel to both Bohunice and Mochovce Slovakian VVER reactors starting from 2027. 🌍⚛️ "This contract marks a new milestone in the longstanding and fruitful cooperation between Framatome and Slovenské elektrárne," said Lionel GAIFFE, Senior Executive Vice President, Fuel Business Unit at Framatome. "Securing a contract with one of the world’s leading nuclear fuel suppliers is crucial for strengthening Slovakia’s energy security," stated Branislav Strýček, Chairman of the Board and General Director of Slovenské elektrárne, a.s.
