Another video I made for my Esports team, I tried to focus on sound design to help improve the overall quality of the video, let me know what you guys think!

Hello my LinkedIn Friend,
I’d like to share something personal with you today, something not many of you might know about me. Besides being a CG/VFX filmmaker, I had the honor of editing the trailers for the Animago Award in 2018 and 2019.
I rewatched the 2019 Animago Award trailer today for the first time in years, and a tear came to my eye.

On my road to becoming a filmmaker (still on the road), editing those two trailers was so eye-opening for me. For each trailer, I watched around 200 short films, game trailers, and studio showreels (top picks), which were handed in for the award. Every year it was a total of more than 1000, if I remember correctly.
First, I really just watched them, one after another, took notes, and then, during the edit, there was no way around studying them.
Watching all these masterpieces (some of them, over and over again) was so inspiring. Every single one of them had a distinctive art style, a distinctive story. Countless inspiring cinematic, editorial, and sound design ideas.
We don’t even have to talk about the quality of the VFX and animation, which is MORE than holding up to this day.
More than half of the short films were done by teams with fewer than 15 artists for the visuals.
I was blessed by editing them all together, watching them over and over again, finding the perfect matching shots to tell a new story with them.
Given the challenging times in the European VFX market, now more than ever, it’s important that we all pull together. I’ve been fortunate to have received help on my journey into VFX, working on incredible projects like Star Wars to fullfill some of my dreams, and now I want to pay it forward. Maybe you’re planning on updating your showreel, but something has kept you from doing it. Maybe you’re worried that your projects aren’t versatile enough, or not good enough, or maybe you just don’t know where to start. If that sounds like you, feel free to reach out.
Barkers Deb Steer, Christian Barkel & Meg Strachan chatted with Toon Boom Animation this morning to discuss our projects, how the animation industry has changed in recent years, and how to start your career as an artist. 🎨

1) This show is awesome - one of my favorites of all time.
2) Pitch perfect balance of staying in-world and being 4th wall enough to know the job of this short is to give everyone an update.
3) Even though the layouts are limited, the animation and directing is getting even better! The acting and poses are so nuanced - just fantastic.
4) Feels like nothing can stop this show. It's almost...

A skateboarding zombie? Who likes 80s hip hop? Well that’s the kind of Rotter I could hang out with. 🛹 🧟♀️
Here’s a little end of the week character animation. And if you fancy the briefest of 80s hip hop riffs then give that sound button a double tap (cheeky Zombieland ref).
