👤Client: I love your work, and you’ve been highly recommended, but we just don’t have the budget for your rate, unfortunately. Me: Okay, that’s absolutely fine. I’d be happy to put you in contact with some freelancers who might be able to work within that budget! 👤Client: Well, the thing is, we really like your work, and this is a great opportunity. This production could really be something big! You might get a lot of work off the back of this, as the exposure will be huge! Me: 1. Opportunity doesn’t pay my bills ❌ 2. I get enough work to charge the rate I do, which means I can turn down low-budget productions like this (politely and respectfully). This also means I don’t need more work off the back of this. 😂🤦♂️ 3. Never use exposure as a selling point for videographers. 🤣 To anyone on the outside seeing this for the first time, please don’t take offense. I get inquiries every week that look like this, and it gets old very quickly. 🥱 I’ve spent years and a lot of money perfecting this craft. To do it properly—it costs. 💰

Video Content Strategist. I help organisations create videos that command attention and motivate action.
𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐥𝐲 𝐔𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 One of my business's core principles is prioritising client relationships over mere transactions. Rather than focusing solely on financial transactions, I aim to provide value to my clients. Recently, I've encountered challenges such as delayed payments and shifting project scopes with some clients, leading to frustration on my part. For instance, a client who promised payment within two weeks of receiving deliverables took two months to fulfill their commitment. Another client continuously expanded the project scope without acknowledging the added costs, prompting me to assert my boundaries. From these experiences, I've learned several valuable lessons: 1. It's crucial to address payment matters promptly and firmly, rather than avoiding the topic to appear nonchalant about money, as cultural norms may suggest. Being upfront about payment terms is essential for maintaining professionalism. 2. When clients alter project scopes, it's important to communicate the implications clearly, including any additional costs involved. While flexibility is commendable, it's equally important to uphold the integrity of the agreed-upon terms. 3. Exploring payment guarantee options, such as utilizing platforms that facilitate direct debit links for overdue payments, can provide added security and encourage timely payments. 4. Implementing policies that penalize delayed payments, similar to how utility companies and landlords charge interest and fines, can incentivize clients to adhere to agreed-upon timelines. As a freelance creative, striking a balance between excellent customer service and firm payment terms requires finesse. It's crucial to assert boundaries without coming across as arrogant. Clear communication, professionalism, and leveraging technology for payment enforcement can help maintain a positive client relationship while safeguarding your interests. #videography #videoproduction #geneva #entrepreneur #cameraman #freelance #photography

I help health coaches reach their target clients by building human connection through strategic branding.
Remember the time when you said, ”This is going to be my year!” or “One day, I’m going to be financially independent.” Well, there’s no shortcut to success, and financial independence isn’t cheap. You have to put in a lot of work and tears to achieve your dreams. There are days when you’re going to feel alone, desperate, stuck, and confused. But don’t stop working towards your goal just because: 😶 No one likes your posts. 😶 Your prospects won’t even open your emails. 😶 They don’t accept your invites. 😶 Your proposals keep getting rejected. Take heart and keep the promises you make to yourself. #dailyreminder #branding #branddesign #freelance #graphicdesign

I Attract Eyes To Your Brand Your Content Brings The Results Thumbnail Designer | Profile Revamp | Carousels
How Paying Cheap Kills 90% of Your Project's Success You might wonder, "Really, Sandeep? Can paying less truly impact a project's success by 90%?" Yes, it can. Here's why: Great work requires: 1. Ideation 2. Aligning with brand goals 3. Experimentation 4. Refining until it's perfect Now, if you ask a designer to work 3 hours for the price of 1, do you think they'll prioritize your project? Unlikely. They'll rush, and quality will suffer. They need to earn a living. Some might think, "I'll just demand multiple revisions." But good designer works for cheap. If they do, it's often due to financial struggles-exploiting that is unfair and unethical. Tips for Clients: 1. Choose standard pricing-low-balling hurts quality. 2. Understand money isn't always the issue. 3. Your project matters; let them do their best. 4. Do a video call to verify their authenticity. Final thought: Respect the process to get the quality you deserve. Thank you! #graphicdesigner #freelancer #pricing #brandsuccess #tipsforclients

The brand wanted a short video that explains & demonstrates what they do. I wrote the script, voiced it, added background sound and the right visuals to take prospects through a journey, and help them experience THE BRAND. 👌 At the end? I got a bonus for creating a masterpiece. 🍻 Here's what the CEO said upon seeing my work: 👇 “Woooow! I never expected this level of excellence from you. This is so good. I know you did this for xxxx but send your account details.” If you're reading this, I want this to be you! I want you to have a masterpiece that will elevate your brand, make you feel good to the point where you just can't avoid saying something good about my work! And then maybe add a bonus. 😂 You can place an order on Fiverr: https://lnkd.in/ehqJAARf Or send me a mail: shittuabiodunbethel@gmail.com Or simply drop a comment! And let's work on your project! 👌

The secret to doing well in business is to be more confident. OK. How can you be more confident? David C. Baker wrote in his book, The Business of Expertise, the formula to be more confident. Confidence = Opportunity ÷ Capacity. What that means is have more client opportunities than you have the ability to do the work. Early on in my career when I ran Blind, we had ±10 new leads coming in every month. Back then, the freelance motion design pool was very small. It meant that we couldn't do all the work even if we wanted to. There was a real constraint on our capacity to do work. So, I would tell my executive producer, double the bid. Double?! Yes. The team is stretched thin as is. Some clients said 'no'. Surprisingly, some said 'yes'. Yikes!! This taught me some valuable lessons: 1. The ceiling is much higher than you think. Be brave enough to test the waters. 2. When demand is hot, and it won't be hot forever, take advantage that there's a limited supply of you. 3. As money flows in, invest in your people, process, and tools. 4. Don't rush to hire more people. When demand is greater than supply, you can be more selective. Filter out poor fits. Raise your rates. Ask for concessions. What are you doing right now that's helping you generate more qualified leads? Do you need to scale back your operation?
