These four offices are turning to hospitality-led interiors to boost the employee experience The return to the office has made evident that workplace amenities aren’t ‘extras’ or ‘nice-to-haves’ but essential for the operation of new conventions around work. Taking on a much more social and collaborative purpose, with the proliferation of hybrid and work-from-home schemes, the workplace needs more than just productivity spaces. As we’ve adapted to a new world of work, gone are the days of one-size-fits-all offices that serve a single purpose. It’s become increasingly important to design workplaces that support productivity while offering elevated experiences that can’t be replicated elsewhere. One approach that’s gaining traction is the “hotelification” of offices, transforming traditional workspaces into hospitality-infused environments that accommodate the many different needs that may arise in the workday. We heavily leaned into this concept when designing our new San Francisco space, creating an atmosphere that is not only functional but also a place our team wants to be. Amy Campbell, AIA shares great insight on this trend and our office with The New York Times. https://lnkd.in/gpd3CgcC

Are you using a pre-pandemic office design for a post-pandemic work structure? According to a recent CBRE survey, 90% of workplace policies offer a hybrid program - but only 19% of those claim to have a successful hybrid program. Organisations looking to capitalise on a hybrid work structure, need an intelligent, considered approach to space usage. Considerate design can transform underutilised office space into flexible multi-use shared space. 🛋️ Relaxed break spaces can be used as informal work areas 🧘 Meeting rooms with agile furniture can be used for workplace wellness classes 🤫 Video call pods can be used as quiet focus spaces Make your office space work for your employees with considered design. #thefutureofwork #hybridwork Imagery of the flexible Curtins office | Compton Courtyard • 4,500 sqft • 8 weeks

Transforming Workspaces: The Rise of Office Retreat Rooms for Enhanced Well-being Over the past few years, we have observed a growing appreciation for the diverse ways people utilise their working environments. Working from home provided greater flexibility, allowing individuals to choose between moving to a different room to concentrate on a specific task or stepping outside for some fresh air. These examples highlight the importance of retreat spaces - areas in the office where people can recharge with some personal time. Retreat rooms offer a sense of comfort and introduce both physical and visual variety to the office. The term 'retreat' signifies not just a break from work but also a time for reflection in a space distinctly different from the rest of the office. These spaces can take the form of a dedicated library or a quiet corner furnished differently from the surrounding area. Above all, retreat spaces must prioritise the user. They can be particularly beneficial for neurodiverse employees, requiring careful consideration of acoustics and lighting. The placement of these spaces is also crucial, with employees more likely to use areas that are tucked away from the office. Meditation rooms are another excellent example of these spaces, representing an emerging trend across projects. These rooms can serve multiple functions, which is an efficient way to utilise real estate and ensure the office remains optimised. #WorkplaceWellbeing #OfficeDesign #Productivity #RetreatSpaces #FlexibleWork #Neurodiversity #MeditationRooms #EmployeeWellbeing #ModernWorkspaces #OfficeInspiration
