As human beings, we often over-complicate things. I hear too often people talking about how critical friends are to our wellbeing, and discuss the perfect playbook to make friends. A playbook? Friendships shouldn’t be engineered. They should be nurtured. True connections arise from authenticity and mutual kindness. Real friendship is born when we genuinely bond with others. I was reminded of this as I sat on this bench, with the inscription: 'The only way to have a friend is to be one.' #Friendship #Connections #Relationships #Wellbeing #Learning #Growth #HumanBehavior
Francesca Gino Beautifully said! It’s refreshing to hear such a grounded perspective on friendship. Authenticity truly is the cornerstone of any meaningful relationship. That quote on the bench encapsulates it perfectly—friendship really is about showing up and being present for others just as much as for yourself. Thanks for this wonderful reminder!
Funny how we overcomplicate these positive and sought after relationships but oversimplify when relationships feel less positive. If there’s conflict, we don’t complicate things enough.
I will cherish the words inscribed on the bench.
