Franchisees filed three separate lawsuits against Nautical Bowls, two in Minnesota and one in California. The claims in all three cases state Nautical Bowls representatives misrepresented or lied about sales expectations for the franchise. #legal #lawsuits #franchising https://lnkd.in/gNari2mk

Thank you, Emilee Wentland, for bringing this to the forefront. We hear far too little about these #irresponsiblefranchising companies that fail to do as indicated and "promised" in their agreements. Worse, are those that "pump" up the puffery while grabbing the fees from Franchisee Investors who haven't done the due diligence or were misdirected concerning FPRs and FDD claims. As my colleagues Keith Miller and Sean Kelly recently noted it isn't about the misrepresentations as much as it is about enforcement of those who betray their Franchisees (paraphrased). If the allegations are true it is a “what not to do” in franchising and franchise sales practices.

They remind me of the Clean Juice franchisor problem in some ways. Thank you Emilee Wentland for detailed piece!

In my opinion, brands that have an SNO count of 58 stores is clearly running very fast! It’s an orange flag to someone considering that brand.

Solid article, if the allegations are true I feel for those affected franchisees.
