Franciscan Health held a blessing and dedication yesterday afternoon at Franciscan Health Outpatient Pediatric Therapy Homewood and the new primary care clinic for Specialty Physicians of Illinois, LLC. (SPI) The SPI providers choose to practice at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields. The blessing and dedication was led by Chaplain Fr. Phil Cyscon. "God, the comforter of the afflicted and the strength of the weak, has brought us together. May we be more fully aware of His presence within us, among us and surrounding us. And may we continue to reach out with loving support and concern for all those whose lives we touch."

📚 Let's clear up some misconceptions about Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC)! As trusted NEMT providers for PPEC centers across Florida, we're setting the record straight. MYTH #1: "PPEC is just daycare with medical staff" TRUTH: PPEC centers provide specialized medical care, therapy services, and developmental support prescribed by physicians. Our skilled nurses and therapists deliver individualized treatment plans while helping children thrive in a nurturing environment. MYTH #2: "Only severely ill children qualify for PPEC" TRUTH: PPEC serves children with various medical needs - from chronic conditions and developmental delays to post-surgery recovery. If your child needs ongoing medical supervision or therapy services, they may qualify. MYTH #3: "Parents can't work while their child attends PPEC" TRUTH: PPEC actually enables parents to maintain employment! With reliable medical transportation services like MTS Angels and professional medical care at PPEC centers, parents can work with peace of mind knowing their children are receiving expert care.

Proud of PeiFen Poh with her landmark paper describing health outcomes of parents and their trajectory six-months after paediatric intensive care unit (PICU). Identifying these trajectories enables novel, targeted interventions for at-risk parents, underscoring the significance of integrated PICU follow-up care. Thanks to our dreamteam Joseph Manning MBE, PhD, RN Jan-Hau Lee, Rehena Sultana, Matt Carey. We meet at #EAPS congress in Vienna. Last night, WNCT’s Gabby Sartori ran a story (link below) on the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program being spearheaded by Drs. Donna Roberson and Kimberly Delgado. The program is funded by a $900,000, multi-year contract to help educate and train members of the regional health care workforce to more effectively care for older adults. https://lnkd.in/evaWMx6E Also recently, Dr. Delgado attended the Gerontological Society of America's Annual Scientific Meeting in Seattle. In addition to attending various sessions on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, caregiver support, and long-term care policy, she presented a poster entitled "Taking charge and flexing protocols: SNF nursing staff's UTI identification."
