🟥 [Ports] Do you want to know which are the ports with the highest volume in Europe?     Here you have a list of the 5 most important ports in Europe and their key characteristics  1️⃣ Rotterdam (Netherlands):  With more than 40 km and 12,000 hectares, Rotterdam is Europe's first port and a key logistics center. It receives around 220,000 ships annually and is strategically located at the mouth of the Rhine and Meuse rivers in the North Sea. Connected to more than 1,000 international ports, Rotterdam is a deepwater port that handles various types of cargo, from standard containers to heavy lift projects. 2️⃣ Antwerp (Belgium):  Located 80 km inland on the estuary of the Scheldt River, Antwerp stands out for its accessibility to the interior of Europe. As the second largest port on the continent, it contributes significantly to economic growth, generating more than 140,000 direct jobs. 3️⃣ Hamburg (Germany):  Hamburg, Germany's largest port, has 43 km of docks and a rich history since its opening in 1189. It handles more than 125 million tonnes of cargo and almost 9 million TEUs per year, being essential for more than 600,000 direct jobs. and indirect. 4️⃣ Amsterdam (Netherlands):  With a commercial history since the 13th century, the port of Amsterdam is part of the ARA logistics hub along with Rotterdam and Antwerp. With short-distance connections and a focus on sustainability, it stands out as a versatile port committed to the circular economy. 5️⃣ Algeciras (Spain):  As a key logistics platform for southern Europe, the port of Algeciras in Cádiz manages traffic of 96 million tons and 4.4 million TEU. We as an airport are proud to organize and lead the Aviation Working Group of the freight forwarder association as main platform of our cargo community work and collaboration in cargo developments, problem solving, and and industry representation channel (certainly in high coop with other associations).
