Impact of High Fees Founder of Vanguard - Jack Bogle shares how much it can affect your retirement The difference in high fees, whether it be your 401k, mutual funds, ect.. Can drastically deteriorate your retirement nest egg If you’re paying a fee, make sure there’s good reason for it (make more money during good years & lose less during bad years) If there’s no value or justification for the fee you pay, you’re having someone babysit your money while they earn money off your money It’s also equally as important to find strategies to reduce/eliminate fees DURING retirement So that you can have your dollar stretch farther given you’re not contributing anymore #fees #invest #stocks #retirement #retire #retirementplanning #finance #financialplan #401k

Did you know 1% can make a big difference when it comes to how much you withdraw from your portfolio during retirement? The chart below assumes you enter retirement with $500,000 in a portfolio made up of 50% stocks and 50% bonds. Each of the colored lines represents an annual withdrawal rate from the portfolio. The green line represents a withdrawal rate of 6%, where unfortunately the portfolio is exhausted after 20 years. The yellow line represents a withdrawal rate of 5%, where the portfolio is still worth almost $200,000 after 23 years. Don't underestimate the power of 1%. Thanks to my friends at BlackRock for the stellar chart! #checkthecharttuesday #investing #retirementplanning #financialplanning
