We grew Kalmin Ross from 0 - 10 Crore revenue in less than 3 years. Here’s our blueprint.
KR is a premium men’s shirts brand, that we started with my dad’s experience in shirt manufacturing, and our expertise in eCommerce.
These are the exact steps we followed to reach 9 figures INR:
1. Conceptualisation
My dad supplied shirts to retail stores earlier, but his orders dropped to 0 during lockdown. I wanted to combine our skillsets to build a brand that I really cared about, which is where the idea originated.
2. Market analysis
I did my research using Meta Ads Library, Spyfu, Similarweb and AdSpy. We noted room for improvement in the premium shirts segment in terms of design and quality, which we could bring.
3. Value proposition
We combined a fashion-forward and timeless design approach to find the sweet spot that appealed to our TG. We would ensure high quality by handling design and manufacturing in-house.
4. Design & sourcing
We made a list of the type of products we wanted to launch, based on market demand. Then, we visited different suppliers to find the raw materials that would offer the most value.
5. Brand development
We came up the name Kalmin Ross, our logo, and visual identity. We got product photoshoots done, and set up our website and socials in-house.
6. Logistics and operations
The main challenges to solve were shipping (domestic and international), payment gateways, customer service and establishing operational processes.
7. Launch and scaling
Thanks to all this backend work, our launch went smoothly. After that, we:
- Made customer experience a priority to get repeat orders.
- Constantly kept innovating and releasing new designs.
- Used primarily FB & IG ads to reach new customers.
- Optimised ads through A/B testing for better ROI.
That’s about it. We kept things simple, and nailed the basics to eventually hit 10 crores in revenue.
We’re growing steadily, and our current monthly profits margins are at a healthy 20%.
If you’ve ever wanted to launch a brand of your own too, steal this process to make your life much easier.
