This is funny and all, but... We all do things like this. We bias against or toward things that we dislike or like. And we expect everyone we work with to follow suit. Things like... "I don't like cold calls so they are a bad idea." "I don't answer my email so why should we do cold email? Or email newsletters? Or nurture?" "I don't click on ads so let's not spend on any paid media." ... This is so problematic. First, it's just not true. You probably could get won over on a cold call if they found your angle - humor or timing or relevance. Second, you're a sample size of one. One. Do not pivot the ship because of your personal preferences alone. Third, you're tanking entire tactics without testing them because... everyone who uses that channel is lying about how well it works? ... I have seen this kind of bias everywhere. It's because it's baked in to human nature. We naturally think we are the archetype for the rest of the world. But we're not.

Lots of water in the canal Water once again played a major role in today's skeleton race in VELTINS-EisArena Winterberg. Good gliding is achieved when there is a super-thin film of water between the runner and the ice. We are talking about a few 10 nanometers here. However, if there is too much water in the track today at +7°C and rain, it can be dangerous, especially on the straights. As the runners are curved, the excess water gets into the wedge gap between the runner and the ice, which creates and uplifting force. In tribological terms, this condition is called hydrodynamics, which, when fully developed, separates the runner from the ice through the water film. In terms of friction, this is not bad. What is more difficult, however, is the controllability of the sled.
