Take the time to celebrate your victories! Yesterday, I sat with my executive team and we reviewed some of the results from our 2024 balanced scorecard. This process also corresponds with the time of year that we do our self appraisals and team performance reviews. During the meeting I stopped our usual "and next..." pace to highlight some of the absolutely fantastic things that we achieved as an organization and by our teams in 2024. As chronic achievers, many organizations (and I believe healthcare groups, in particular) will skip past 10 green boxes on a scorecard so they can focus on two yellows or a red. We assume that our "low spots" must be our only focus when it comes to performance and that is where we focus all our energy. That means we discount all that we, and our teams, have achieved in worthwhile goals (that were never guaranteed) and our year is defined by our misses. Do you do that with yourself, your teams, or your organization? Imagine if you had a friend who you only heard from when they needed help - how would you feel when you saw their name come up on your caller ID? Remember that everyone needs people around them who lift them up, show them the sunshine in the world and not just drain them with every interaction. Take time to celebrate your victories, your people, and your teams and you just might find more people want to be on your team.

I just returned home this weekend from a big regional area meet in Pensacola and saw this. Wanted to share it as this is the beauty of cross country and how it would apply if we used that same spirit in our work and personal lives. These are not my words but as a 7+ year cross country mom, they very well could be. —- What if we lived life like we were all in a cross country meet? What if we watched other people and recognized that we're all just trying to get across the finish line? What if we understood that some people are running as hard as they can but battling illnesses, invisible injuries, and internal struggles? Every step is hard, but they're trying not to quit. What if we cheered for everyone even if they weren't on our team? What if we realized just finishing something, no matter how long it took us or how messy it seemed, was enough? In fact, it was a win. What if we used every race as an opportunity to learn more about ourselves and how we could use each other for support, inspiration, and help to reach our goals? What if we cheered loud for the winner, but even louder for the one who comes in after because they accomplished something great, too? In a world that tells us it's about me, me, me, what if we started living to support everyone brave enough to be in the race? What if we started treating our lives like we were all in the same cross country meet? What a beautiful world that would be. Love hard. Whitney Fleming Writes

Who I'm becoming at 60: A 31 yr old home chef from Wales? I've done my deep work and here's who I'm becoming: 1. No need to retire, I love what I do. I know my purpose, aligned with my life's work, and I found my WHERE (God's Green Acre - Ozarks, Arkansas). For clarity, I've lived in 19 locations, worked in 3 different industries, so clearly I didn't have it all figured out. Arkansas is home base. Chicago will be our "second-city", smack dab in Lincoln Park next to William Ticoras. Will, call me, so we can coordinate. 2. I can FEED people. It's why I blew a wad of money, for Culinary School, earned after we sold our company to Medtronic. My house on Friday nights, I'm literally feeding people. I seek to, uniquely, serve surgeons by helping them digitize trust and build thought leadership. I'm figuratively feeding surgeons w/experience on how to do it. 3. Lightship EV/RV road-trips. I want to road trip with some of my favorite surgeons and Eric I Anderson manning remaining electrical charge. Think Big Fish meets Secret Life of Walter Mitty. My 3rd & 4th Quarter of Life Strategy: Figure out how SMALL is big enough.
I Indulged.

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 (I celebrate the work you do)! This morning, as I served a long-awaited client in the Middle East, memories of my journey streamed through. I thought back to my days as a house officer, learning from experts while grappling with real patients. I remembered my service year—standing on my own, applying everything I had learned. And then, the years as a medical officer, giving my best to each patient, knowing my work made a difference. Today, as I taught a mother the foundations of chess—her effort to give her kids the multidimensional benefits of the game—I felt the same sense of purpose. I was 📍solving a real problem, 📍serving someone, and 📍growing in the process. That’s what work is. It’s not just a task. It is value in action: —solving problems, serving others, and bettering ourselves. What you do daily matters. You are creating value and shaping lives, whether through ✅a product, ✅a service, or ✅an idea. 👉🏽Your work is noble. 👉🏽Your contributions deserve recognition. This week, take pride in your role. Embrace the purpose behind what you do. In serving others, you serve a greater purpose. ᴡʜᴀᴛ ᴠᴀʟᴜᴇ ᴡɪʟʟ ʏᴏᴜ ᴄʀᴇᴀᴛᴇ ᴛʜɪꜱ ᴡᴇᴇᴋ? Do let me know in the comments👇🏽 Repost ♻️ to share this truth with your network Have a winning week! #mondaymotivation #inspiration #chesscoach #thelinkedinedgechallengewithinneh

“How do you choose who you get’s on your team?” Saw this short clip of Simon Sinek again speaking of high performing organizations in which high TRUSTworthiness is pointed out over high performance. How do we recognize trustworthiness in a new teammember when they do not look or act like you? In the elite Seals teams day have their own selection processes.
