It's that time of the year again. Christmas celebrations, a time for family, friends, colleagues, food and the occasional ‘Did they really just say that?’ moment. Picture this… you are at the dinner table, surrounded by roast potatoes and crackers and someone makes a comment that makes your inner voice go: ‘No, nope, no way, I surely didn't hear that right’. What do you do? Do you: 🫵 Call it out there and then? 🗣️ Wait and have a quiet word later? 🍨 Let it go and focus on dessert? 😆 Try and steer the conversation with a bit of humour? I am aware there is no perfect answer, and it depends on the moment, the person and your energy levels (or wine levels). But it is worth remembering that even a gentle nudge can make people think again. What is your approach? Let’s swap strategies and make sure the only thing getting roasted this Christmas is the food. 😉

November is one of my favorite months mostly because of the weather and my favorite holiday: Thanksgiving. I love the clear and cool days, fixing warm drinks like ginger-peach tea and matcha lattes, and witnessing the trees showing off their exuberant color while simultaneously emptying their branches. Every year, around Thanksgiving, a total stranger will reach out to me for help. They’re stressed out, hosting relatives they didn’t really want to invite, and—for whatever reason— they agreed to cook dinner for 20 people. Something in them snaps, and they hit the “no more” point. If you’re nodding along, know that it’s not too late to change course. You can still say no to all of it. But if you choose to see this through, it’s time for some triage: *Delegate: Let others handle parts of the meal. Ask someone to bring dessert, drinks, or a side dish—even if it’s last minute. *Ask for Help: Don’t hesitate to rope in friends or family for prep, setup, or cleanup. You didn’t eat the entire meal alone, you can ask for help with the cleaning. *Simplify: Cut out the extras. If something feels like a “nice to have” instead of a “need to have,” skip it. Focus on what matters most. And once the dust settles, let’s make sure this doesn’t happen again next year. If saying yes to things that should be no is your pattern, let’s talk. Send me a message, and we’ll work on those boundaries together. #holidaystress #peoplepleasing #boundaries

🦃 Thanksgiving Feasts & Food Comas! 💤 Thanksgiving is all about gathering with loved ones, sharing what we’re thankful for, and indulging in those amazing turkey dinners and carb-filled sides. But did you know that turkey (thanks to tryptophan) and heavy meals can make you extra sleepy after lunch? If your workplace is hosting a Thanksgiving potluck and you’re heading back to work after a feast, here are some tips to stay alert and safe: • ✅ Stay Hydrated: Water helps keep your energy steady and combats that post-meal slump. • ✅ Take a Quick Walk: Even 5-10 minutes of movement after eating can wake you up. • ✅ Go Easy on Portions: Enjoy a little bit of everything and save seconds for later. • ✅ Stretch It Out: Loosen up those muscles and stay in the green zone. Let’s make sure we enjoy the holidays safely and avoid any mishaps from that Thanksgiving nap feeling sneaking in at work. 🦃✨ What’s your go-to Thanksgiving dish? 🍂 Let us know in the comments! #ThanksgivingSafety #IndustrialAthletes #TurkeyTime #StayAlert

I planned to make Thanksgiving dinner last week. That’s just a given. My husband, seeing me exhausted to the bone, suggested I take a long rest for Thanksgiving. He specifically requested I not cook and we order KFC deep fried turkey instead. The horror! Not cooking for Thanksgiving and slaving over the stove for 2 days? Actually, it sounded like a dream. The respite I didn’t know I needed. We ordered the KFC deep fried turkey with all the sides. We celebrated Thanksgiving with just the four of us. I was never so excited to rest and relax on Thanksgiving. We relaxed. We ate. We had fun. Okay, so the turkey was sadly not that great. But you know what was great? Not being exhausted from cooking and having a mountain of dishes on top of it. And I did make my apple pie from scratch 🥧 Sometimes we need to let things go. Only then will we allow space for something else. Sometimes that ends up being rest. Sometimes that ends up being quality time. Sometimes you get exactly what you need in the quiet moments. Being busy is not a badge of honor. Being too busy is a sign that we need to re-evaluate ourselves and how we spend our time. How will you use the holiday season to slow down? Tell me in the comments! #slowdown #thanksgiving #relaxation #lettinggo #priorities
