“I want to point out something in regards to what you were just saying about the consumer and what you look for as a consumer. I believe this is important for any stay-at-home parent who’s listening. I think a lot of times people who've been home with their kids might assume that since they’ve been out of the workforce for a period of time, they might not have the skills to run a business. You are a perfect example of somebody who took what you learned being a consumer, managing contractors or work being done in your home, and transferred that mindset, skillset, and knowledge into providing a superior customer experience for your client.” We work with many clients who have been stay-at-home parents. As their kids grow older and need them less, they often find themselves feeling a bit restless. They have a strong desire to contribute to the household but aren't necessarily eager to return to corporate life, or they may feel uncertain about reentering the workforce due to a job gap. The skills they've developed at home - juggling schedules, volunteering, managing household tasks, and more - translate into excellent organizational and project management abilities, which are invaluable in business ownership. Additionally, their experience as consumers gives them a unique and valuable perspective. We cover many current and relevant topics. A few include: ◈Growing a business with an emerging brand ◈Having a supportive spouse ◈The transferable skill sets of a stay-at-home parent The link to the full episode is in the comments below 👇 #DFWFranchiseExperts #Franchising #FencingFranchise

Coaching Spotlight: Building Family Memories Through Business Success Nestled among the sprawling landscapes of the Phoenix Valley, a renowned remodeling company flourished – its history stretching back over two decades. For years, they had meticulously designed and remodeled homes, but behind the scenes, they grappled with a challenge that threatened their legacy: Working with the right people. The owners knew they needed to strike a delicate balance between finding people who fit their company culture and possessed the necessary skills. They knew once they solved this issue, the owners could refocus on visionary work that would be essential for expansion. Enter, Core Matters. After a few conversations, we realized what was missing… Employer Branding While this company had been in business for over 20 years and had won numerous awards, they weren’t clear about who they were or why they were in the remodeling business. As we dug in, it became obvious that their driving force was far more than profit - it was all about family. Spending quality time together and creating lasting memories were the reasons behind their unwavering dedication to the business. A pivotal moment happened when one of the owners shared a video from 25 years ago. In the short clip, he and his father were building a cabin, a nod to the bond created through shared experiences. Family memories were woven into the fabric of their identity. With this revelation, Core Matters focused in on the company’s unique selling point: The ability to transform dreams into reality while fostering unforgettable family memories – for the customer and for their team. Their dedication to making clients’ visions come to life wasn’t just about demolition and remodeling; it was about creating space for families to make lasting memories in their homes. As the company realigned their purpose, a major shift occurred. They realized their most valued customers were those who prioritized family experiences too. This clarity would change the way they took on new projects. By streamlining operations and focusing on what truly mattered, the remodeling business was finally aligned. With new clarity, the company embarked on a path of purpose-driven growth. They were no longer just a remodeling business; they were creators of cherished moments and protectors of family legacies. Through their work, they set out to turn houses into homes where memories flourished, leaving a legacy for generations to come. #CoreFitHiring #CoachingSpotlight

Hello fellow life-jugglers! I’m reaching out from the heart of my home office, which seamlessly transforms into command central for both my bustling family and growing business. 🏡💼 As someone who’s guiding four energetic kids - I want to share some real talk again. Juggling the demands of entrepreneurship with the responsibilities of parenting is a bit like trying to have a spotless white shirt at a spaghetti dinner - a bit tricky and often messy, but there’s a certain joy in the challenge. 🍝📚 Here’s an insight I’ve learned along the way: The stray pen marks on my reports and the unexpected pop-ins from my kids during video calls aren’t just the on the odd occasion when working from home, it’s the norm. To all the dedicated parent-entrepreneurs out there working to make the numbers add up while cheering at football games, going to gigs on Tuesday night or swimming lessons, know this - you’re the real MVPs: Master of Versatility and Persistence. Your strength is evident, even if you’ve had to brush off a few crumbs from your jacket before a big presentation. Keep on taking those important calls, now probably with a bit more background noise than before, and keep spinning those everyday hurdles. Because at the end of the day, we’re not just building businesses; we’re doing it for our family. Sending you all a wave of positive energy and a virtual pat on the back! Let’s keep pushing forward 🤝✨ #RealTalk #parentingandbusiness #mumlife #propertyentrepreneur

NO cold pitching in DM | TALK your connections into paying clients using content and conversation | 350+ motivated service providers & coaches helped | Social media marketing strategist | Business Coach | Speaker
'You built 5 businesses - Did you exit successfully out of all of those?' Dee Makadia asked me the question no one has ever asked me (but I bet some of you wondered as well). The short answer is YES. I've been fortunate enough to build and successfully exit 4 businesses (5 is still running) throughout my career. Plus, I spent a couple of years in corporate management between business 2 and 3. While each venture had its unique challenges and rewards, I've learned valuable lessons that have shaped my entrepreneurial journey. Here's a brief walk down memory lane with each of them: 👉 The Plant Nursery: My sister and I started this when we were 13 and 11. It's still going strong today 37 years later, run by our dad and little sister. 👉 The Landscape/Yard Maintenance Company: I launched this at 21 and built it to multi-six figures by 25. Even after a rollerblading accident and two hurricanes in the first year, it thrived for 13 years, when divorce ended it. One of the amazing things about business 1 and 2 is that they created generational wealth in my family. The 1st still providing for my dad and little sister today and the 2nd, I helped my mom and brother start their own successful companies. 👉 The Housecleaning Business: Started during the 2008 recession, it ran successfully for four years until I broke my ankle. This was my first venture into online marketing, using Craigslist ads to find clients. While I was healing from the ankle surgery, I shifted to content writing, which led me to... 👉 Content and Social Media Management for Corporate Clients: this is one that got me onto LinkedIn, and being paid $1000+ for blog writing and $5K monthly retainers. I still take on the occasional client today. 👉 Marketing Strategy and Business Coaching: My current business, where I help service providers and coaches, mostly women, market themselves effectively online. This journey taught me the importance of believing in yourself, flexibility, and building strong relationships. It also fueled my desire to help women understand that marketing doesn't have to be "icky" and can actually be fun. Now, I'd love to hear more about you and what drove you to build your business. P.S. If you're ready to turn more of your connections into clients using effective marketing, send me a DM.

Building the go-to administration support service for UK startups | Matching founders to our trusted Virtual Assistants to achieve scale
In September 2022, I took a leap of faith. I had spent 5 years living the Cornish lifestyle. - Sea - Sun - Sand - Enjoying the slow life I had a great life, but I felt like I had plateaued. - I had worked my way up as far as I could in my old company - I had experienced most of Cornwall's beauty - There was limited opportunities for growth in the South West I've always had a dream of owning a company and building a team. I didn't know how I was going to get there, but I knew I would. All I knew was: - I could complete any challenge I had in front of me - I had a lot of project & team management experience - I wanted to utilise my full skillset I spent years building - I wanted to help people unlock the free time to build their business In June '22 I realised it was time to take action, and control of my life. On 31st August I had resigned, said my goodbyes, sold most of my things and packed my tiny Mazda MX-5 to the brim to drive home. I moved back in with my parents to set up Zellor Management. My goal was to build a virtual assistant agency to serve entrepreneurs directly. I was living on savings and almost drained them before I got my first client after 3 months. Was that the smart route to take? No. Did I stress a lot? Yes. Did it push me out of my comfort zone? Every day. But now we have an agency who support brilliant clients. And they feel the extra time they have to work ON their businesses, and not so much IN them. If you have a goal in mind, spend every minute you can making it happen. I love the Jim Carey quote "I learned many great lessons from my father, not the least of which is that you can fail at what you don't want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love." Chase what makes you happy. #virtualassistant #virtualassistance #growth #businessmanagement

The VA you need in your life! Outsource admin, get some help looking after those personal tasks, or get some expert customer service help 👌🏻 I’m the right-hand woman you need for your business. Let’s book a call ☎️
Balancing Acts and New Beginnings: Navigating the world of business ownership can be a delicate balancing act. As a full-time professional, I realised how challenging it was to find the time to grow my VA business, while ensuring a steady income. 🔺Working full-time left little room for the growth my VA business needs. 🔺 Solely focusing on Jennifer Assists isn’t quite at the income level I require. 🟢 The solution? (I hope!) Transitioning to part-time work while dedicating more energy to expanding Jennifer Assists. I’m excited to share that I’ve started a part time role within the NHS, and hope this new path will allow me the flexibility to nurture and grow my VA business, so I can eventually take it full time! If you’re a small business owner feeling overwhelmed by administrative tasks, navigating home-life, kids, ageing parents (or any other caring responsibilities), Jennifer Assists is here to help (and empathise with the juggle!) I’d love to hear from anyone in the same boat, have you had to change course in order to build your business? Today though, the business hat is off! I’m off for a long weekend with my baby granddaughter (and her mum and dad) for some much needed relaxation. Time to make the most of this glorious sunshine and to see these little toes experience the sand ☀️ #VirtualAssistant #SmallBusinessSupport #WorkLifeBalance #EntrepreneurJourney #MidlifeEntrepreneur #MidlifeChallenges #NewBeginnings
