Celebrating #EarthDay the Freeman Boatworks way 🙌 This Freeman 37VH was recently used to support a turtle rehabilitation release off the coast of North Carolina! Special thanks to this boats captain, John Charles Cruise III and The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center for making this happen. Thanks for these awesome underwater shots of the Freeman, Jenn Gold and Logan Guy! 💯 Happy Earth Day!

A fascinating read about how the Maid of the Mist electric boats came to be!
In 1846, a steamboat was used to ferry a stagecoach and horses from the shores of the Niagara River in Niagara Falls, N.Y., to the Canadian shores. In 2020, the Maid of the Mist welcomed guests aboard their all-electric vessels, ushering in a new and eco-friendly way to take in the grandeur of one of nature’s marvels. Shaping the future of regional mobility by making zero-emission, high-speed coastal transportation a reality
What differentiates a seaglider from a boat or an airplane? Seagliders float like a boat when they're in a harbor, use hydrofoils for better maneuverability and passenger comfort as they leave the harbor, and then transition to flight in ground effect over open waters.

Professional Diver (French Class IIA (IMCA), Belgian OTS, AESD ; EANx and CCR diver) & Environmental Scientist, CEO of SciSca SRL (diving and environmental solutions).
For the wonder of your eyes, and for anyone who isn't a commercial diver and prefers aquatic life to underwater work 😉, here's another video, this time filmed in freshwater. After the animal, marine, fixed and invertebrate life of the corraligenous at a depth of 40 m (https://lnkd.in/es2JZ_NN), here is the resting place of the pike at shallow depth in freshwater; the top piscivorous predator of this ecosystem. CCR diving allows you to get very, very close to this fish without disturbing it (no bubbles, no ballast lungs and perfect stability). As a top predator, it doesn't mind your discreet presence.

Alaska: The Dalton Highway Stage Three: from Deadhorse to Fairbanks, AK The James W. Dalton Highway is a 414-mile gravel and dirt stretch from Livengood to Prudhoe Bay and through some of Alaska’s most remote wilderness. How remote is it up here? There are only three very small towns along the way. The Trans-Alaska pipeline, which runs parallel to the road, is often a driver’s only companion. And from the midpoint (the town of Coldfoot) to the end of the road (Deadhorse), you won’t find gas stations, restaurants, rest stops, or hotels—in fact, you won’t find services of any kind over this entire 240-mile stretch. In other words, if you love lonely roads, this is the drive for you. But not many travelers take this route. The highway—built in 1974 to facilitate the pipeline’s construction—is mostly used only by truckers carrying supplies to oilfield workers in Deadhorse. And it’s a tough drive: steep and slick in places and muddy in others, with those trucks occasionally flinging rocks and gravel onto your windshield. For this reason, most rental cars are not allowed on the Dalton. Still, with a rugged vehicle and plenty of supplies, you can drive through the boreal forests and up to the misty Arctic oilfields of Deadhorse and Prudhoe Bay. Did You Know? Whale Strike Avoidance Plans are a crucial part of modern maritime safety practices. These plans are designed to prevent collisions between ships and whales, which can be fatal for these majestic marine mammals and potentially damaging to vessels. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) and various marine conservation groups have developed comprehensive guidelines to minimize the risks of whale strikes. These include: -Speed Limits: Vessels are advised to reduce speed in areas known for high whale activity, especially during migration and breeding seasons. -Enhanced Watchkeeping: Ships implement rigorous lookout procedures, using both visual observations and advanced technology like radar and sonar. -Route Adjustments: Vessels may alter their courses to avoid regions with high whale densities, based on information from marine conservation authorities. -Reporting Systems: Sailors are encouraged to report whale sightings and any collisions, contributing to a database that helps refine avoidance strategies. These measures have shown significant success. For instance, in the North Atlantic, specific protections for the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale include mandatory slow-speed zones in known habitats and feeding grounds. At Ruswal Global, we recognize the importance of balancing efficient maritime operations with environmental stewardship. Just as we ensure the quality and quantity of bunker fuel through our expert survey services, we also support initiatives that protect marine life and maintain the health of our oceans. Our commitment to excellence extends beyond fuel measurement to encompass the broader responsibilities of the maritime industry. By raising awareness about whale strike avoidance, we contribute to safer, more sustainable shipping practices. #ruswal #whalestrikeavoidance #maritimesafety #marineconservation #bunkerfuel #cargosurvey

#WorldWhaleDay brings awareness to the critical importance of protecting whales. Accidental collisions between ships and whales are an international concern. 🐋 🚢 ❗ The WSC Whale Chart offers seafarers critical navigational coordinates and concise graphics to identify routing measures and areas subject to static speed restrictions designed to protect whales and other cetaceans. This unique navigational aid is to help all navigators. Together, can help reduce ship strikes and safeguard endangered whale populations across the globe.
