Top advertising agencies don't usually hire through job boards or postings, they primarily hire through referrals and word of mouth. Why don't more companies do this?? (Am I even ALLOWED to do this!?) At 222 we just had a vigorous interview process for a mid-management position and never before have I been so impressed with the level of candidates who applied for an open role. Frustratingly, we could only select one (but if I could have offered the role to 2 or 3 I would have!). These people deserve to have an awesome job they wake up to every day...so, I'm going to be their cheerleader! For any hiring managers looking for new team members with skills in creative strategy, influencer talent management, content creation and client relations then please get in touch. There's a perception that less senior roles should be easier to fill through advertising alone. This is completely wrong. In many cases, the opposite is true. If you 'post and pray' to find your next National Account Manager or Category Manager, good luck. Good people at this level don't even need to apply to ads at the moment. They're in such demand that they're being approached with opportunities regularly by recruiters and people in their networks. Sure, you'll get a lot of applications and who knows, you might get lucky. But quantity of ad response is a pretty lousy metric when 95% of the people applying aren't remotely close to what you're looking for and in many cases have almost zero relevant experience. If a hire is important to your business (as they all should be), tailor your hiring approach accordingly. Advertising should be one part of your strategy, but if you're not proactively engaging talent pools, utilising your network and engaging specialist recruiters where advantageous, I guarantee you're not making optimal hires. #recruitment #talentacquisition #fmcgtalent
