Government is seeking feedback on changes to export obligations for spices, drugs, and more. Have your say within 15 days!: The Trade Notice announces amendments to Appendix-4J of the Handbook of Procedures, 2023 by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade. Stakeholders are invited to provide comments on proposed changes within 15 days. The amendments include adjustments to the Export Obligation Period for various items like Spices, Drugs, Tea, Coconut Oil, Silk, Raw Sugar, Precious Metals, Penicillin, Natural Rubber, and others. The amendments come into effect immediately u/s 1.03 and 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023. 🚨 On December 12, 2023, the U.S. Department of Commerce (“Commerce”) announced its Countervailing Duty Preliminary Determination regarding imports of certain pea protein from China, with margins in the range of 15-343% ad valorem, depending on the importing company, will be collected on protein pea isolate imports at the U.S. border. Commerce will instruct U.S. Customs and Border Protection (“CBP”) to collect countervailing duties on imports of protein pea isolate from China starting on December 19 and also to impose these duties retroactively on U.S. imports of pea protein from China made as early as the middle of September. At Ingredion, our peas are grown in North America, and our pea protein isolates are produced in Nebraska.
