Freespoke Search’s Post

I was asked about Freespoke Search by a LinkedIn friend of mine -- not mentioning any names Travis Taborek, who noticed I frequently post about the search engine. Here's my response: The primary reason I came to love Freespoke is that they display the latest news on their homepage. However, they do it in a unique way. They specify whether the article was written by an outlet that’s “Left”. “Middle” or “Right”. This is pure genius. The site is very useful to me, because I’m not interested in clicking on anything from the left. However, I do notice a very strong contrast between the headlines on the same article between left and right. It’s all very interesting to me. The contrast is sometimes even comical, the way different stories are spun. Freespoke makes it really easy to sort out the genuine news stories from the leftist, socials, globalist and corporate sponsored propaganda; even though a lot of outlets on the right are actually leftists in disguise, but that's another post. *cough* Fox. I’ve been a searcher of “truth” since I was a kid. As someone who shoots from the hip, myself. I've always detested BS, lies and political correctness. I just can't be bothered with it. It's so draining to keep up with. For decades I’ve frequented grass roots journalist websites and all that stuff to find the “truth” of what’s going on in the world. So I really appreciate a websites like Freespoke, because I know that what the mainstream publishes is just to push a narrative to influence how people think. They rarely post any actual “news”. And they all post the same thing, verbatim. So there’s obviously a small group of people, dictating what they want everyone to think. The whole situation just stinks. Freespoke is also a search engine, and a really good one. They have accurate and useful results. I have Freespoke set as my default personal search engine. I’m a paid subscriber. The website also has an “Elections” link at the top which shows what’s going on politically. And I notice a new store lately too. I'll be checking that out. Happy to support the effort. Freespoke is just an awesome, unique website, service and idea. ..all that, and Kristin Jackson, the CEO and Cofounder, is awesome. I’ve been following her since I’ve been subscribed with Freespoke. Kristin is a person who has values and is obviously using her talent to do positive things in the world, instead of just trying to make money. I really respect that. But this is also why Freespoke is such a great effort. It’s been built by a champion.

Finding the right place for mom and dad is too precious of a task to be left exclusively to an internet search; wouldn't you agree? And here are more reasons not to use internet searches as your sole search strategy for mom and dad… Sneaky Redirects A redirect involves sending someone to a different URL than the one they initially clicked. Black hat SEO uses redirects outside of the purpose they are intended for. Along the same lines as cloaking, this might include redirecting a search engine crawler to one page and all other users to another page. This is why many unsuspecting searchers for senior communities, clicking on one community get many calls from various sources. "White hat links" are links on the internet that are gained through honest and fair methods. These links come from websites that are trustworthy and relevant to the content they link to. People who use white hat links focus on creating valuable content that others want to link to naturally. They do not try to cheat or manipulate search engines to get more links. White hat links help websites improve their reputation and rank better in search results by following the rules and being honest.

If you're searching Google to find websites where you've got coverage, then there's something you may need to keep in mind. Google appears to have got worse at indexing websites. I'm working on a campaign that's been getting international coverage (I was just on outreach). Today I did my usual Google searches, but decided to do the same on Bing and Duckduckgo. They both surfaced results that Google hadn't, one from the Polish Press Agency (so not exactly like it was a rubbish website that didn't deserve to be indexed), who I was able to then approach for link reclamation. If I hadn't of searched Bing/Duckduckgo, I'd have probably lost out on that link. So yeah, something to keep in mind.

One of the unintended consequences of how search engines work is that it tempts legitimate, trustworthy organisations into moving into areas outside of their expertise. I understand that news publishers should be looking outside of their normal activities to find ways to make money and I'm not a purist about it at all. I was still surprised to see Reuters, a 175 year old news wire agency, serving up promo codes for web businesses. I don't know how much money it makes for them, and I'm sure it's a very low cost play, but I wonder if decision-makers consider the invisible, long-term cost to your reputation by playing in these waters (using your good SEO to hos promo codes that only work 1/3 of the time). Plus, I assume that Google and other search engines will end up penalising places like Reuters in the future for venturing outside of their expertise with SEO plays like this.
