I wish I lived in a world where more people would think for themselves instead of letting professional TV and internet liars feed them garbage. Imho, we owe it to ourselves to be more discerning about what we believe. It's hurts to think that otherwise intelligent people allow themselves to be manipulated. If enough footage existed, any of us could be made to look foolish. I took a film-making class at Manatee Community College in 1993 and learned: It's about the EDITING. Anybody can be made to look foolish. It doesn't mean they're a fool. Fox "news" for example. They're a defamation machine that churns out lies and exaggerations 24/7/365. Fox paid nearly $900M for lying about the Dominion Voting machines. Show me another network caught lying like this. You can't. Fox makes $15B/yr, so it's a small price to keep their viewers happy. They have to keep the 'narrative' going or they lose ground to OAN, etc. There was a time in the USA where people actually debated on a politician's worthiness by looking at: 1) Their policies; 2) Their track record; 3) What sort of person they are; 4) Etc. Are they experienced and serious people? Before social media, most people used data/info to form their opinions. It wasn't about their hairstyle, but their policies. I try to judge people on their ACTIONS more than their WORDS. That works out most of the time. These days there's all these 'Bad Faith Actors' (aka professional liars on TV and the internet) who spend all day defaming their political opponents. They use 10% reality w/90% garbage to smear people. When you hear "Many people are saying....", that's not a fact, it's conjecture (aka a bunch of lies). Sean Hannity and others said for the last few yrs that Joe Biden took bribes. Turns out their "evidence" comes from a Russian operative ( https://lnkd.in/e8gnK2VJ ) I'm not going to let a murderous dictator like Vlad Putin tell me what to think. Will Sean apologize? Of course not! If you're good at being a Bad Faith Actor, like Sean Hannity, you can make $45M/yr w/out a college degree (he's a former bartender + construction worker, we have that in common!). Sean is worth $250M (a real "regular guy", huh?) and when pressed about his lies/lack of credentials, he says "Oh, I'm not a journalist, I'm just giving my opinion." See how that works? Of course "the media" isn't "liberal". The media is almost entirely owned by huge, transnational corporations. The media is owned by a bunch of billionaires. Those billionaires decide what most of us think by controlling CONTENT. If you think Joe Biden is ______, I say "Make up your own mind." I watched his entire State of the Union speech. I liked his message. He makes a LOT of sense. Did he stumble a few times? Sure. He's an older gent w/a lifelong stuttering problem. Judge him for yourself. You're too smart to let other people tell you what to think. https://lnkd.in/e_Gmm9SJ

https://lnkd.in/gV6hBDhi I didn't watch this and now, I'm awfully glad I didn't. What possible good could come from watching these two opposite in every way except their contempt for each other pols fling mud at each other for 1.5 hours? I sincerely doubt if FOX "News" had any real agenda for this bogus event other than to score big ratings -- and help make the Dems look bad with help from an obviously biased "moderator" Sean Hannity. By that measure, it was probably a success...but thankfully I had nothing to do with that. I didn't even know it was HAPPENING...probably because I never watch FOX "News" and the event was scantly promoted in other media. These are indeed filthy, low, slimy, regrettable political times that we live in -- which is the main point of this article. The environment to even HAVE a reasonable, fair, civil discourse about opposing policy ideas is so polluted as to make this virtually impossible. Very few politicians and leaders are even CAPABLE anymore of this sort of tact and gravitas; the vast majority of them now act and speak like petulant, mean, spoiled children who are incapable of not slandering their opponents, flinging mud and coming across as an ass with no credibility or fairness themselves. BUT, I disagree with a central point, near the end of this article. It suggests that "We've never been this divided," as Hannity said at the beginning of this "debate" and the columnist seems to concur. C'mon, guys! That's ridiculous. You don't think the U.S. was more divided leading up to and during the CIVIL WAR?!? Hyperbole and constantly exaggerated/superlative rhetoric does nothing to calm the mayhem in America's body politic today; in fact, all this blown-up speech and writing is making our divisions worse and nastier. Cut it out boys, or I'm sending you to your rooms.

I think it is a pity that this story is presented only as some sort of family feud, played out in the public eye... There is only little analysis - if any - of its implications for the freedom of the media. Murdoch's media outlets, particularly Fox News, have long been accused (and rightly so) of promoting a conservative agenda and sensationalist reporting. The network's partisan approach to news coverage has contributed to the polarisation of public discourse in the United States. Some argue that it has eroded trust in mainstream media and enabled the spread of misinformation. Hence, I think this transition raises important questions about media ownership. It is very much about the influence of media moguls on public discourse and how the media narratives are shaped by corporate leaders at the top. The concentration of media power in the hands of a few individuals poses risks to freedom of expression. It can lead to the prioritisation of certain viewpoints over others. So as the Murdoch succession saga unfolds, it serves as a reminder of the complex interplay between family dynamics, corporate strategy, and the influence of media on society. #Media #MediaFreedom #CorporateControl #Murdoch #FoxNews #journalism #USA #monopoly #freespeech #freedomofexpression #humanrights https://lnkd.in/e8eD57T2

For the next ninety plus days you will have the opportunity to play executive, entreprenuer, Vice President, department head, and leader. This is the rare occassion you get a choice in who you hire. The link I am providing is a great example of a Governor who listed the behavioral performance of a President. Behavior performance is based on what you can physically verify through site, hearing, or touch. Human performance usually expresses itself in evidenced-based results from action taken directly by the leader. https://lnkd.in/gD8ciKEA I was in Michigan when Gretchen Whitmer, Governor, Joselyn Benson, Secretary of State, and Dana Nessell Attorney General won their election over white male Republicans. I was there when she ran the the state during the pandemic. What she explains in this video is Donald Trump’s behavior based performance as President clearly and succintly. Just before I left Michigan the trio of women won re-election and flipped both houses of Congress to Democrat. There are tons of evidencedl-based performance she can fall back on that has help Michiganders. You are the person hiring the President. Trump has a record as business man and President. Harris has a record as a prosecutor, Attorney General of the second law enforcement agency in the country, Senator, and Vice Presiden that is endorsed by Governor’s like, a Gretchen Whitmer. Make your hiring decision on facts not conjecture or negative talk about the other Presidential Candidates. Who will deliver what you want. You need to ask to see the plan and decide what you want your children and grandchildren to live like in America. Do your research and stay away from ads and media. For me the choice couldn’t be any clearer. If your objective is to turn America into an all white society or a Christian Nations the data is saying clearly and unequically you are way too late. The path back to living in the early 1800s will be a century of hate and violence. You get too choose. Choose wisely based on evidence and success versus failures. There truly is a stark difference if you go by evidence versus promises.
