NGPOD benefits highlighted by Patient, the UK's largest independent health website and the Patient Access app. A recent article on the Patient website/app highlighted the benefits that NGPOD demonstrated in our recent clinical trial, published in BMJ: Nutrition, Prevention & Health.  The article, which focuses on the use case, placement and ongoing management of nasogastric tubes, states that, "A recent study looked at a new device, NGPOD, which is a fibreoptic PH sensor. It was found to reduce the subjective element of reading litmus paper." The clinical study also demonstrated that NGPOD reduces the need for X-rays by 61% and removes many of the other human factor risks associated with legacy NGT testing methods, reducing delays to critical patient treatments. With 61 patients experiencing primary floaters, the study showcased a remarkable 𝟳𝟳% 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 in reducing floaters over six months through targeted dietary intervention.   💬 We are now excited to announce that we are promoting the continuation of this research. Employing advanced statistical methodologies, FLIES 2 will assess the original data using new statistical approaches to explore the clinical relevance of the original results in more depth. 🔬 An upcoming clinical trial by Dr. Erika Isolauri, presented at ESPGHAN 2024, aims to investigate the effects of a synbiotic containing dsm-firmenich's GlyCare™ HMOs and a Lallemand Health Solutions probiotic on women who receive perinatal antibiotics and their newborn infants. The intervention group will receive the synbiotic for two months, while the placebo group will receive maltodextrin. Various samples and evaluations will be collected throughout the study to assess the impact on both mother and infant health.
