⭐ Meet The Team! ⭐ Michael Winder, the car mechanics teacher at Brian Jackson College, with a love for anything that rumbles, roars, or just generally makes a racket, is an unstoppable force of nature. His ADHD, dyslexia, and colour blindness only seem to turbocharge his enthusiasm. If it has an engine, Michael wants to take it apart and put it back together—sometimes better, sometimes... different. Back in 2012, while juggling college classes to gain extra qualifications, he was practically kidnapped by his own teacher and told, "You know more about this stuff than anyone here—how about teaching the class?" The fact that Michael once mistook the red wire for green didn’t faze him; he just rewired the whole thing using sheer willpower and a gallon of coffee. Teaching came naturally to him, partly because he could explain a combustion engine using metaphors involving toasters, and partly because nobody could resist his chaotic enthusiasm. His classroom is a high-octane mix of jokes, hands-on projects, and the occasional misplaced socket wrench. Michael’s ADHD means every lesson feels like an adventure—one minute you’re learning about engine timing, and the next you’re knee-deep in a conversation about how tanks are just really big cars with better paint jobs (which he insists, despite his colour blindness). Dyslexia? No problem. When the textbook gets confusing, he just throws it aside and says, “Let’s make our own manual!” His students love him for it, and while they sometimes leave class with a slightly perplexed look, they’re also equipped with the knowledge to fix just about anything, from a broken down motorcycle to a malfunctioning coffee machine. Michael doesn’t let a few wiring mix-ups or jumbled letters slow him down; he’s too busy chasing his next exciting project—probably trying to fit a jet engine onto a go-kart, with a cup of coffee in hand, of course. Thank you Michael, for all you do at Brian Jackson College! #Teacher #Thankyou #Kirklees #AlternateProvision #FreshFutures #BrianJacksonCollege
