FreshPet, knowing that one of your board members is also a board member for Denny’s is very upsetting. They have been ignoring public calls from improved animal welfare, particularly around the use of small metal cages for pigs. Pigs are just as sentient as dogs and deserve to live without suffering. I’m not sure I can ever buy your food knowing one of your board members is involved in a company like that.

As a company that claims to care about animals, FreshPet should be aware that one of your board members, Olu Beck, also sits on the board of Denny’s—a company refusing to stop using gestation crates for pigs. It’s hard to trust in FreshPet’s commitment to animal welfare when there’s this link to such horrific factory farming practices.

I'm pretty horrified to learn this cause Denny's has been refusing to adopt a policy banning the use of tiny metal cages to house pregnant pigs. In fact, their board recommended against it!
