Exciting news in the philanthropy world! Renowned entrepreneur Dick Smith has made a generous commitment to donate his $300 energy rebate announced in the Federal Budget this week to the Salvation Army, urging fellow millionaires to follow suit. Dick Smith's message is clear and inspiring: "Not all of us need that money. There are millions of Australians that are doing OK. Donate the money to an important charity and that means the money won't be wasted." In a time where every little bit helps, this gesture of kindness demonstrates a powerful way to make a significant impact. This act of generosity can serve as a reminder of the impact we can have when we redirect resources to where they are most needed. So many Australian families, including kinship and foster care households face significant financial challenges daily. For carers, additional financial support really does go a long way, grants for the purchase of items for the children and young people in their care can mean the world, especially when the cost of living is so high. Through our fundraising at OzChild we can help with the costs of tutoring, counselling, car seats, and even prescription glasses for kids – practical items that make caring a little bit easier. But we can’t do that alone. No not-for-profit organisation can, we rely on the generosity of others to make it possible for us to help lighten the load for families. Let’s join forces to make a difference! I encourage everyone who can, to consider this impactful choice. Whether it’s a donation to the Salvation Army, OzChild or another charity close to your heart, let’s turn our rebates into a collective effort for good. #Philanthropy #SocialImpact #GivingBack #CommunitySupport

Join The DAFday Movement With Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley ! 2024 brings about the first ever DAFday! What is #DAFday you ask? A new kind of giving day focused on education around donor advised funds (DAF) and how donor advised funds can maximize support for the local nonprofit organizations you care about! Did you know that giving through a DAF can nearly double your annual support to the causes you care most about? So, what is a DAF and how can you utilize this powerful tool to help our local neighbors in need with life-changing home repairs? A donor advised fund (DAF) is a tax-advantaged charitable giving account. DAFs are often compared to a 401(k) for retirement savings or a Health Savings Account (HSA) for healthcare expenses. Any person, couple, family–or even company–can open a DAF account at more than 1,000 providers around the country. DAFs have surged in popularity in recent years because they are incredibly effective at increasing giving capacity and streamlining philanthropy. DAFs aren’t just useful for donors, they’re immensely valuable for nonprofits! New research shows that when an existing supporter starts giving from their DAF for the first time, their annual donations to the same organization can increase by up to 96%! So, interested in donating to RTSV or your other favorite Nonprofit organization making a significant impact in your community? Check out our Ways To Support Page linked below and visit the DAF Direct option for a seamless experience!

Balancing Gifts to Children and Charity in Your Will: A Christian Perspective As a Christian, deciding how to allocate your assets between your children and charitable causes in your will is a profound and thoughtful process. Here's a guide to help you navigate this decision: 1. Seek God's Guidance: Begin with prayer, seeking wisdom to discern God's will for your assets in serving both your family and those in need. 2. Prioritize Family Responsibilities: Consider the biblical emphasis on caring for your family, especially those dependent on your support (1 Timothy 5:8). 3. Teach Stewardship to Your Children: In addition to meeting your children's needs, teach them about stewardship and the importance of giving back. 4. Reflect on Biblical Generosity: Reflect on biblical examples of sacrificial giving, like the widow's offering (Mark 12:41-44). 5. Consider Impactful Giving: Evaluate the impact of your charitable gifts, aligning them with your Christian values and the Great Commandment. 6. Tailor Your Gifts: Tailor your gifts to the unique needs of your children and beneficiaries, choosing charities that resonate with your values. 7. Involve Your Children: If appropriate, involve your children in the decision-making process to create unity in family philanthropy. 8. Consider Charitable Trusts: Explore options like charitable trusts that provide for your children's needs while contributing to charitable causes. 9. Communicate Openly: Transparently communicate your decisions, especially if they involve a larger portion going to charity, sharing your heart and vision. 10. Consult Professionals: Seek guidance from financial and legal advisors to structure your estate plan for maximum benefit to both family and charities. 11. Embrace Flexibility: Acknowledge that circumstances may change over time, keeping your will and charitable giving strategy flexible. In conclusion, balance gifts to your children and charitable causes with thoughtful consideration, guided by Christian values. Strive to create a legacy that reflects your commitment to family responsibilities and Christ-like generosity, contributing to the betterment of both your family and the broader community.

📬 Expert in Lockbox, Caging, & Intelligent Data Capture for fundraising 💹 I help non profits increase revenue by accelerating donation processing 🏆4X Inc. 5000 Honoree 👨👨👦👦 3 great kids, 1 patient husband
Thirty years ago, your 67-year-old donor was in her 30s. And I was worrying the impact aging donors might have on fundraising. Back then, your donor was a single mom, tightly budgeting every penny for her family's immediate needs—child care, daily commutes, and orthodontist appointments took priority over charitable donations. Today, she's a contributor to your organization: a dedicated monthly sustainer who also steps up for special needs when asked. What changed? Her children grew up, secured good jobs, and now support her more than she ever expected. They even take her on vacations. With less financial burden and more time, she's turned her attention to helping others. Age has always been a strong indicator of philanthropic giving, and with 73 million Americans expected to be over 65 by the end of this decade, we're looking at the largest pool of potential donors ever. So, why do we spend so much time worrying about attracting younger donors? Tap into the ready and willing group of boomers. They're already making a significant impact.

I have to believe in myself every morning because the children that count on me and believe in me don't take a break. I have to push myself beyond challenge and beyond excuses. The reason why I do what I do is to create a place at SOOFA Ranch where we can really change lives through working with horses. That’s why we’re building the Ride Strong Multi-Use Community Center – a place where children, veterans, and families can heal, grow, and thrive. But to make this vision a reality, we need your support. Our goal is simple: if 10,000 people commit to just $5 a month, we can raise the funds necessary to complete this vital project. Your contribution is not just a donation; it's an investment in a community space that will uplift countless lives through equine-assisted therapy and education. We’ve seen firsthand how horses can teach confidence, communication, and emotional resilience. Now, we need a dedicated space to expand these programs and reach even more individuals who need it the most. Every bit helps, and together, we can make this dream a reality. Let’s build this together. Will you be one of the 10,000 to Ride Strong with us? The link is in the bio #RideStrong #SupportSOOFARanch #EquineTherapy #DonateNow #ChangeLives #BuildTogether #HealingWithHorses 🐴
